I have the exact same type of scratches due to trying to force a defective rubber strap to my black bay 58, resulting in the springbars popping out from the top. I've obsessed over it for weeks but my wife can't even see what I'm talking about. I've finally accepted it and stopped caring. Will take some pics soon and share.

I believe folks should not wear a watch that they expect to remain pristine. Otherwise, frustration and high repair costs lie ahead.

That is why it is always better not to change the original bracelet (Oyster/ Jubilee)

Based on your stated concerns, I can almost guarantee you that no matter what happens, who does it or how much it costs, when you get the watch back you will see or imagine defects, unevenness or (gasp!) new scratches and you will be more unhappy than you were before.

Sell it now, while you have a chance, and buy a new one that is undamaged. And then stop swapping bracelets/straps on it! In fact, don't wear it. Don't even look at it! Put it away where nothing can happen to it. Only then will you be satisfied.

Hey, I'm OCD too. But let's move along.

My recommendation, buy an Apple Watch and put a case on it. Watches are going to pick up scratches, dents and marks even under the best of conditions.

If you need a macro lens to show us, then don't worry you can't see them with the naked eye, so just leave it.

Another suggestion is to watch some youtube videos on how to change a strap, and then practice on your seikos.

When I get a scratch on my watch I hold a meeting with my lowly sales force and throw the watch at them while screaming into a microphone "At least as a rich man when I have to face my problems I show up in the back of a limo wearing a $2,000 suit and a $40,000 gold f****** watch!"

The new owner probably won't even notice.

What on Earth makes anyone think it will remain pristine?

Enjoy the watch and when time for service comes, it will be shiny and new again. If you polish after every scratch, there will be no metal left to service eventually.

Leave it as is, I'm sure there are a few more scratches to come.
