Never...but was the Sub designed exclusively for diving?
Didn’t the name refer to its water resistance and durability? It seems like it was meant to be a very durable watch, like a pre G Shock. |

I've done a few vacation recreational dives with my DSSD. Really tested that 3,900m water resistance rating going down 10 meters or so.

I wish I had a sub with which I’ll never leave the coastline.
Sadly, I have only a GMT with which I’ll never leave the East Coast. Well at least not any time soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I dive but never with a submariner. A dive computer is much more useful for diving.

Scuba dived with a DD ! Supervised by PADI each time so I could. Only went roughly 40 feet the deepest. Why wear it to make memories.

RE: How many Sub owners have never gone diving?
About the same number as GMT owners who have never flown a 747 and Explorer owners who have never climbed Everest.

Submariner was designed for telling the time, I use it for that all the time.

I’ve been diving several trips each year for the past five or six years and I’ve been lucky enough to have had a lot of different watches in that time to use while diving. I got certified in Mexico (Riviera Maya) and was wearing a no-date 114060. The following year I sold that one and got the 116610 which also saw some dive time. None of the watches I’ve ever taken have ever been scratched or damaged, and I don’t waste time worrying about anything but enjoying the moments. Now, though, my main divers are a Tudor Pelagos (blue—and my favorite watch to dive with) and a black dial SMPc on oem rubber.

I wear mine when washing my hands, occasionally showering and I even wore it in a pool once or twice, however I will never wear it diving. Diving is not for me.
I'm sure it's fantastic for everyone else but I'd rather take my sub off and throw it in the sea than actually jump in the sea with it on.
