Should have bought a Platona 3 years ago when they were like $67,000.

Same for me. Always thought I’d get one but i recently moved some watches on and now have the funds to buy a 5270 without touching other funds allocated for other stuff.

But…I now realise it’s just too much money for someone of my wealth level to spend on a watch so the money is going a holiday home instead and i accept that a 5270 just isn’t for me.

Paul Newmans Daytona 6263 seems like a long shot for me to acquire.

There are a ton of watches I will never acquire but very few are pieces that I'd actually like to have and have not been able to get. A blue 5711 is one piece I'd love to put in my collection but it's going for more than I think it's worth so....not gonna happen. I've been able to get most of the other pieces I want from AD so grateful for that but I missed the boat on the 5711 (and I don't think it's going to sail again).

Decided to get a TT Wimbledon DJ in rose gold while waiting.
Only intending to trade that in if the AD makes the "call" or if the DD comes way down on the grey. In the meantime give it a little wear.
53k just seems like too much for a basic YG DD.
Of course, like Fagin at the end of the musical "Oliver", I reserve the right to always be "Reviewing The Situation"!
Have you tried

www.davidsw.com? YG 40 listed for less than ~49k USD.

5270P - GRAND COMPLICATIONS. Like this watch but can't justify cost of it.

Gulf blue ROO - I heard they're trading over $70k

116500LN Daytona Panda, I guess. But honestly, my interest in that watch has faded, regardless of price

I feel like I want an exp 124270 or OP36 from my AD for my daughter but if he get me one that'll be my only allocation watch for years hence rather I focus with him on other sports etc.

I have simple taste. I bought a 14060m in 2004 because I liked the sub and couldn't find the watch that started my Rolex obsession in high school, a 16013 with fluted bezel and champagne tapestry dial. Now that time has passed, marriage, college, and three kids, finances currently do not allow me to get this watch. I'm not sure I ever will get the watch, primarily due to finances.

White dial ceramic Dayton due to availability at an AD new.

A white gold sub with a blue or blue to black face dial, black bezel and Oysterflex because it probably will never be offered.

Any Richard Mille because spending that much on a watch will cost me my marriage.

I've been with my AD for years and spent a good amount of money on both Rolex and other watches out of the cases. The Daytona eludes me, every year it's "you should be able to get one this year". I'm at a point where I've just about given up. It was the first watch I inquired about years ago and had I known I would have just gone grey back then. Now it's more than doubled in price in the grey market.

None that I can't but many that I won't (if that makes sense).
