I like it. Grew on me. I need it to complete the “Justice League”.

But I don’t want to pay premium. So I’ll probably never get allocated one. Sad face.

No desire ever. Only one true GMT in my opinion--BLRO!

A 'Novelty' watch, not for me. Could be a good investment piece though. Will go up in value.

General Opinion on the Sprite

I just bought it - and now I have three GMTs, inc BLRO and BLNR. I’m not a left handed person - and simply love how different yet familiar it looks. It’s a really beautiful watch.

<sigh>….buy if you like it. If not leave it for someone who genuinely wants it (like me, who is left handed and wears watches on my right wrist)

You want investments? Buy property, get into trading.

I understand people may not want to buy watches that lose a ton of money, but buying for “investment” ….

Agreed.

I notice the majority of people wear it on the left wrist for a left handed watch.

My wife is left handed, and is on the waitlist for one and wears watches on her right hand. For me personally, it is not my cup of tea.

I wonder if this came out 10 years ago, I bet it would be sitting in cases like the hulk did and many would have gone grey to buy at a discount if they wanted one, lol.

Ok, I’ll stop buying watches for left-handed people if all the lefties in thread stop buying watches for us normal-handed folk.

Responses here will always be mixed feelings and personal preferences. Personally I am a fan of the Sprite and will buy.

I don’t like this novelty watch. If you’re not a lefty, it makes no sense at all.
The model was designed to be worn on the right wrist, which is a good service to left-handed consumers, not a novelty.

It’s kinda like a left hand guitar. Great if you are left handed. I think it is cool that Rolex made a watch for left handed people…..and I’m right handed.

As a righty who wears on the right seeing lefties wearing one is the opposite of how watches look on me.

I actually do like it but my (and the only) AD is locked into his 'existing and extremely rich and or powerful + friends' client list I won't ever get one..

I actually don't think they will become a hot FOMO collectors item. There seems a lot around already and the demand has softened from the initial hype so I can't see why they would suddenly go back up.. Of course no one knows what Rolex will do next but the "it's going to be discontinued" is pretty much empty talk. ..
I believe it'll settle down even more next year like all the other in demand SS watches.
Never to reach those heady days or yore..

It's an interesting premise, what made Rolex make it?
To my knowledge, they have never made a left handed watch as a production item, never made a watch with the date at 9:00. And hadn't made a "lefty" watch since the 60's.
Is it a test of the market to see if it would warm to the idea? Is it a one time thing to spark more attention to Rolex? Is it a collector item?
Only time and consumers can answer the questions.
I'm a lefty, I own one, I wear it on my right wrist like every other watch I own.
It's a cool watch.

It’s a cool watch and has certainly grown on me, but not enough to the point where I’d want to add one to my collection.

I think the future collectibility of it will depend how long it’s in production for, but if you like the watch then you should add it and wear it rather than be concerned about future collectibility/value etc

This! It is made for true lefties, who wear their watch on their right wrist. I am a true lefty, who wears my watch on my left wrist. So, I would have no use for it. It’s perfect for this guy, though. Buying it to wear on your left wrist makes no sense, to me. It looks, and is backwards! I get why some true lefties wear their watches on their right wrist. My husband does that. For them, it’s out of necessity, to keep from banging up their watches, while using their dominant hand. I wear mine on my left wrist, because it’s made to be worn that way.

An investment? How many are you planning on buying? If you pick one up at $17,000, that’s not much of an investment.
My advice is, if you are concerned with gaining or losing a few thousand dollars over the course of a decade, you should not be spending this much on a watch in the first place

Colorway looks cool. Would really want a "normal" "RHD" model. I'm a lefty & wear a watch on my left wrist. I don't like the backwards look.

I really like the bezel and would absolutely purchase a new “conventional” GMT if it were available with that bezel.........
