This was extremely helpful. Thank you. I have noted the ones I have seen in the high $60’s aren’t actually transacting. There is clearly a gap between buyers and sellers right now.

What's up with the large amount of missing link watch only listings on Moda? Are they stolen?

I think sometimes they get separated when sold but also some dealers take them and sell them for extra money.

PPI rose 0.4% - more than expected. Inflation isn’t going anywhere soon, and with that, higher rates. There’s going to be more pain in the economy, and anyone who thinks watches will be insulated is sorely mistaken.

I was referring to new dealers, not used, as it wasn't explicitly stated

CPI also rose more than expected. No silver lining here. It’s going to get worse.

Absolutely correct. Higher than expected CPI inflation data has crushed bond markets this morning. September CPI rose 0.4% from August, above the consensus of 0.3%, and was 8.2% higher than a year ago. Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, rose 0.6% from August, well above the consensus of 0.4%. Core CPI was 6.6% higher than a year ago, up from 6.3% last month, and the highest annual rate since 1982. The Dow is down 300 points this morning. Buckle up!

Yup, this morning losses have since recovered on a relatively volatile morning. Seems to be the way it's been for a while now, but the key monthly indicators tell a different story.

CRM just released a "best of" video. Oh boy, impressive to see the contrast between today and during the craze.

The market is dead quiet now.

Also, have you noticed that many of these youtube kings have gone very quiet or even not released any videos? And the videos we see now are no more a collection of transaction sequences.

6 months ago these actually went for 32k

Glad I could witness a modern Era tulip mania myself

Haha same! No intrinsic value and in a weak economy, no reason why production models won’t go for roughly retail +/-

I’m tired of all this investment and hype BS. was into watches 8 years ago, and when I’m finally in a position to build a collection, all these fly by night “watch enthusiasts” messed the whole game up.

It will revert to to mean, and anyone genuinely into watches should be content.

I'm in exactly the same boat as you.

Owned a few pieces but once I was in a position to buy what I'd like to own / wear it's all "need to be on the list ". How do you get on the list?
Spend money on stuff you don't want . So over this.

I have to say AP has treated me very nicely, esp given that I was an unknown. Rolex is almost dead to me at this point, the AD and attitude really rubbed me the wrong way... A GMT is a nice watch, but seriously in the grand scheme - not that special / rare at all.

Same here, and I have been into Rolex since 1989. So sick of the investment and hype BS. Can't wait for prices to go back to 'sanity' levels.

Yes. LVs are 35,000 bucks full set in Japan. One was a V and one was a Flat 4 but I couldn't see the serial letter.
