Yeah my AD just offered me one last week. The white gold one on oysterflex. I’ll message them on Monday and see if it’s still available. They told me these Watches were hot at first but are slow movers now.

These « escort » watches, are they any good? Seriously though, glad you are letting people know. It may be a sign that you will land your dream watch and enjoy the buying experience from a reputable seller.

The truth is, the idiot is unapologetic in his behavior so I’m not sure anything I might post or that others would see on this site would bother him in the least. Look at their responses to poor yelp reviews. They don’t deny anything with regard to how they operate.Certainly unorthodox but maybe it is the new business model if you can continue to make sales and not have to worry about kissing peoples asses.

I took these guys and authentic watches off my list of window shopping greys because of these TRF threads. I appreciate these greatly.

I stick to Patrick and David now.

If a seller has only put up one picture of a watch then that’s an immediate no deal from me.

That response from Jaztime is awful though.

That is very rude and not the right way to treat someone sending over $12k merely by pictures. It wouldn't take a grain out of their hair to just answer the questions to keep ones mind at ease. This is not acceptable

They don’t even have most of the watches they offer for sale on hand. They source them for you and the price can change at anytime. How they get away with this stuff is insane.

If reading their FAQ isn't enough to make a person run for the hills, I don't know what to say. You have a higher tolerance for idiots than I do.

My experiance with JazTime

I am only commenting here because i have personally been to their location twice and had a watch looked at by Kevin and Ken at JazTime. I will first say that i am not here to kick someone while they are down. I am just trying to provide information from a Orange County local who has actually done business with them. I first went them early this year before covid to have an Omega looked at and appraised for insurance. My office was just 500 yards from their location and found it foolish if i didn't take advantage of the proximity.

I called them and and they said that they only work on appointments and don't make appointments over the phone and to email them.
I did that and it took them 2 days to get back to me. (I will provide a snip of the email chain.)

I was a little surprised by how short he always seamed both on the phone and email. Either way, after several emails (because of poor executive skills on their end) i finally got a time FRAME window set for end of week.

I go to their office and find out that its a suite rental from WeWork. I had to wait 10min with the receptionists for one of the guys to come out. I was expecting to be taken into the office and build rapport and even take a look at a few watches while i was there. But NO, i was told to stay outside, and to comeback with cash, and he rushed back to his office wearing plastic flip-flops, polyester basketball shorts and a sweatshirt. I had been talking with the girls at the front desk, who work for WeWork while i was waiting. I asked them if what i just witnessed was typical or a one-off situation?, They both said "Yes! And they will try and do deals in the elevator hallway and common areas all the time to avoid paying to rent the conference room."

Once they had finished appraising the watch 2 hours later i came back, waited 10min again and one of the guys rushed out, handed me my watch, took the cash and rushed back into his lair.

Now, what I'm about to say is my impression, opinion and fact and by no means is it because i have an interest in stereotyping based on ethnicity. As someone who does large deals with clients from around the world, and in prior life worked for Mercedes-Benz as a customer experience advocate I am bringing up potential customer service related areas that need to be shared.

These guys do not know what customer service is. They have no intention to learn either. I see this all the time in SoCal and i get it, its horrible place to try to make wealth here when you are a foreigner and there are hurdles that can get in the way. But there is no excuse for treating people poorly, especially your customers. JazTime has no intention to actually earn your business, and don't care about anyone but themselves.

I dont know, please TRF tell me when im out of line. But, that has to be one of the rudest and worst displays of customer service i had seen in a while.
Especially in the watch industry. 2nd place would go to a sales rep at a Rolex boutique who was eating his Jersey Mikes sandwich all over the display case HAHA! That was stupid behavior and i can laugh at it. Sure words have meaning too, but when people go out of their way to have ZERO interest in you, the customer when in person, its inexcusable!
If they were to argue against me, they would probably bring up the fact that they dont know how to act and that i'm the only person who "feels" that way, or even that because they arent from America, they dont know how to be nice. I have NOOO Clue! i spent a long time thinking about this and couldn't come up with any valid excuse.

I would NEVER buy a watch from these guys, let a lone a meal. They would be shutdown tomorrow if they were in the food business just based on negligence, poor sanitation and the likely hood of using expired product to save money. I can say comfortably they are not watch enthusiasts either.

I dont know. I could go on and on by making educated guesses and assumptions on why they operate the way they do. At the end of the day its simple. This business is just another that is all optics and no substance.

There is no way JazTime has any of these watches onsite. If anything they are just leasing office space in order to have a Newport Beach address and to be 1 mile down the street from Bob's Watches.
My assumption is this: They got into business with a family member or friend who was dealing watches under the table. They like quick money and want to be associated with money and luxury items because it represents success in the family and in the culture. In order to make more money, they needed to move out of the blue collar area and try to present themselves as a online dealer in Newport Beach where an online buyer wouldnt question if they had the inventory or not.
Ive consulted for eCommerce sites and have seen people do exactly what they are, and that is over saturating a website with EVERY SINGLE ITEM imaginable because they think it will make them more money. But not realizing their business plan, customers service and executive timeline is dog crap and that is why they arent making more money.

Now what worries me is this. Where is the inventory coming from. Again, most of this is all assumptions based on what i noticed. But, it just feels shady when you have watch after watch for sale so you can get SEO hits, but there is NO way they have 7000 watches in stock. So either they have some grey market connection or some underground network of watch dealers wiling to give them first pick if someone actually transacts.

Sorry guys for rambling but just wanted to share some insight from an overly critical, but observant professional who happened to stumble on this thread while leaving a positive thread for a TRF member.
Cheers

Well that was a productive bump

Thanks for sharing. I think I'll add their website to my router's blocked list.

Not sure it’s right or fair to bring ethnicity/nationality into play..

And lots of assumptions/assertions in here, all of which may or may not be true. But one thing is for sure, if your experience doesn’t put people off buying there, nothing will.

Could of course be a front for money laundering or other such criminal activity. But could just as easily be a legit business with dreadful customer service.

I agree with that i would like to add that it was not my initial intention to add cultural traits as it is an easy 'jump to conclusions' mentality. However, as i wrote this post over the course of an hour and much deliberation i found it an aspect which needed to be included as it explains, but does not define a few aspects. Note that i purposefully did not provide any assumptions on their nationality or demographics. I based all the information on character traits, which culture and background absolutely play a vital role in how people make day to day decisions and treat people around them.

Clearly their communication skills are very poor. It could be from a lack of experience with the English language and its formalities or simply an inexperienced, immature and lazy seller who just doesn't care.

Either way, it is important to let forum members interpret all the potential open-ended questions, ideas and assumptions to build your own interpretations on my eyewitness account.
For the record I am a business development consultant with an education in business and communications. I say this only as a reference in my interest and passion to help people, businesses and commerce flow as efficiently as possible. When i see traits, behaviors, clues and data that doesnt match, I instinctively try to look at any and all potential aspects of the business. So unfortunately there is more sociology and psychology at play here than maybe more are used to.

Thanks TRF and again, we should all try and do business with people who support and understand our interest in watches. As they need us just as much as we need them.

That's awesome. Glad you found someone who earned your trust.
I only know for a fact what my experience with this seller was but the Yelp and Google reviews sound just like what I dealt with. Insults, profanity, childish messages, all while proclaiming he didn't need my business as his items sell themselves by the click of his "Buy it Now" button.
