I agree completely, but it is easier to get a SS rolex than a 321 it seems. I have been waiting for a snoopy and 321 since the day of there launch, and I was able to purchase two SS rolexes from the OB.

You & I both but would much rather prefer 321, will see if I get a call on it this year. Lol. Probably not.

For sure, there’s definitely more SS Rolex than 321. I guess what I meant was more on secondary market pricing. Secondary 321 price is far more reasonable than some of the Rolex SS going for 3-4x MSRP.

Still in with this one
p.s. taken by three different "camera systems" from two different Smartphones. One does not suck, the others...

The Ed White has an exhibition back, a sapphire crystal, an applied logo on the dial, the 321 movement AND was the model that went to the moon?
Is all this true?

I thought all speedys that went to the moon/space had to be Hesalite due to how it behaved if it shattered/broke….is that just marketing BS?

This particular model never went to space. This is a reissue of the original that did go to space.

Does anyone have both 3861 & 321 on hand? I’d love to see close ups, side by side photos of both crystals in the same lighting condition taken from a few different angles

I haven’t got a few different angles but here’s one I took some time ago. The 321 crystal shows very little ring - and in most lighting never does. If you just go by pictures you’ll clearly always be able to see something. In real life, there’s no real comparison between them.

So, about 6 months after I posted the above, what are my thoughts on the 321 now! Well I have to say that any thoughts I have about this watch are very positive. I have found that I wear it a lot. Since I bought it I have turned into a regular Speedmaster wearer who sometimes wears other watches, as opposed to being a very regular Daytona wearer who occasionally wore other watches. My watch has settled down to loosing maybe about half a second a day, if that, which I find very acceptable. I think I posted a few months ago about a problem I had with the clasp which resulted in me wearing the watch on a black leather strap. The clasp was replaced by Omega, but it took a lot longer than I had expected it would for this to happen which was disappointing. However during this time I got used to wearing the watch on the strap and I have left it on the strap after getting the bracelet back. I think the watch looks very understated and classy on the strap. I really like the watch’s dial. The hour markers are slightly longer than on the normal moonwatch and are a different colour. When I wear my moonwatch the markings look very bright and a bit stark to me now. I don’t think about the crystal not being made of hesalite or the bezel not being aluminium, I just wear it with absolutely no negative thoughts at all. The watch is also very easy to read during the nigh, as are all of the Speedmasters I have tried. So, to sum up, I still really like mine. I am still please I bought it and, knowing what I know now, I would have no hesitation in buying it again. I am curious if Omega will release another limited production of the Speedmaster next year, again maybe with the 321 movement in it, maybe a version with the professional case perhaps, who knows? |

Side by side, these look very different. Like two completely different watches.

Glad to see our 321EW on Omega's 2022 Speedmaster poster
FYI, pictured here is the lower section of the poster. Although I didn't try to compare, I'm pretty sure the upper section matches the contents of their 2017 60th Anniversary poster.
