Hi all,
Just went home on leave for Christmas and interestingly many people on first seeing my DSSD said as the first question "Is it real?". And then "it's very big" and "how much was it?" haha. Just wondering what sort of reactions you have got and also do you think the "is it real?" question comes because it is a Rolex (and is therefore the most faked watch around)? For those with Omegas and Brietlings etc. as well, do you get the same response, or do you think it's more of a Rolex thing, just because Rolex is the most recognised brand for non watch people? |

I'm a proud owner of one. I've had it on two deployments and in about a dozen countries. I love mine.
BTW, are we allowed to post pics with guns and knives now? One reason why I stopped actively posting was that it used not be allowed. Too many sheeple.

Finally at ease....
Happy 2012 everyone! Reporting in with my deepsea wristshot! My Gmtc had to go shortly after getting a Pam, but it just doesn't feel right without a Rolex. So after nearly a year of being Without A Rolex. Here it is, it may seem a little too big, a tad too thick, couple of ounces too heavy.... But the joy it brought was unmeasurable! Please pardon the quality and allow me to share my joy!!

Thanks guys. Great pics! May I show one more? The laser etching is sure hard to get a glimpse of, but when it does show, it comes in a pair. :) Love the DssD... Great thread!
the reflection of the etching I shown partially, didn't see this effect with the Gmt2c previously. Will try to take better pics in future. |

Ok, pulled the trigger again after not having owned one in two years. I sold the first one only so I could buy a 1665, had nothing to do with not liking it.
With the Glidelock, the watch is stable on the wrist and frankly no different than wearing my Sub C OR a Panerai...I just don't see the big deal and all the B****ing. 6.6 inch wrist |

Purchased one a few days ago from DavidSW and I can't stop looking at it. Yes it's big, but it's just more of this beautiful piece of Rolex genius to look at. I'm in love.

great to see many new dssd owners showing the love! I have had mine for about 2 years and back then the dssd got lots of hate, too big, too thick, too heavy, too much writing, too big for small wrists blah blah blah...
This modern rolex has classic dna good looks with the updated modern size is a match made in heaven. The glidelock clasp is also the best clasp ever made. mine says hi

Even I'm about to buy the GMTIIc to use with more dressy occasions ,I very much doubt that it will dethrone my deepsea from being my Nr1 watch .
Sorry for the poor quality picture as I only have an Iphone to take pictures with . |

Re:
I would say yes you could, I'm spending hours in pool... But as every watch, what ever sea or pool, a long rinsing is a compulsory systematic duty if you wanna keep it for long...

I wonder the same thing. With our dive gear, they say that chlorine is really bad for the equipment. I think that I also read in the brochure that chlorine is not great for the watch gaskets either. But, I was wondering as well if others were taking their watches into the pool with them when they swim. I'm not afraid of taking it into the ocean, but the pool worries me a bit more over the long term.

In the product e-brochure, they talk about blue lumes on the Deepsea. Mine are green. Does anyone have the blue lumes on their Deepsea to which they refer in the brochure? Hope I didn't get a fake DSSD. ;-)

When looking at the watch after "charging" it - it does look green. But when I take pictures of it, it comes out with a blue tinge. long time lurker, first time poster... woot woot. |

Deep Sea Sea Dweller
Really enjoy my DSSD. Can not say enough good things. I have had mine coming up on two years and still think of it as one of the cornerstones of my collection. The clasp is amazing and I wish it was used on other sport models. Just my thoughts.
