When did the Hulk become more expensive than a steel AP Royal Oak chronograph? Literally mind boggling......

Crazy prices. It doesn't sound like the OPs are hard to get, maybe a short wait at an AD, so I'm guessing those prices will come down shortly.
The sub, though, it just depends if Rolex wants to turn one of their most basic models into some kind of unicorn. Just make more of 'em Rolex, come on! |

Folks buying hyped up pieces like their lives depend on ‘em...Social media and Instagram in particular have permanently changed the game.

Hulk is a buy at 25k as much as TSLA is a buy at $500. Sadly, these watches are essentially treated as a market now and people feel “secure” spending stupid money because they know they can either make money or at least enjoy the watch and get their money back. This is also raising value of everything else because most transactions are trades and dealers can mark up the PM model because they know what they are taking in for SS. The cycle keeps repeating itself.

This is a first release as more are delivered the aftermarket price will drop a lot.
Remember a first release BLNR Jubilee sold for 32K, now they are about half. |

And it would be easier than requiring ADs to hold onto warranty cards, take off stickers, vet buyers regarding flipping, not selling to tourists, etc, or whatever other nonsense reindeer games are being played, though it's not clear if that's really coming from Rolex HQ or the AD is trying to deflect criticism. |

If Rolex raised prices to market rates and kept them there, their sales would plummet through the floor.
This hype is based on perceived exclusivity and the fact that you can buy something at MSRP and sell it for double to triple. If that disappeared the hype is gone. Just like 2016 and before. if all of these hot models were available in store for purchase brand new, many many fewer people would want them. |

Extremely true. We will know very soon. I hope not. However it’s still funny reading threads like this. Some peeps are pretty upset.

126610lv was auctioned on a Facebook group 2 days ago and high bid was 24k. Even then the guy was a bum and didn’t honor his bid. The David premium is a reflection of how many clients he has. He’s like European watch Co you can’t buy there anymore if you are price conscious.

More expensive than a D500? Nah. They can have it if they want who cares.

Wait? Doesn't a blue dial Patek 5711 retail for 30K and sell for 60K plus?
What really is the difference? It is all craziness |

$20,000 for a white Milgauss when it was released... in 2007.. . There is simply NO way. Someone has doctored the hell out of a photo. First, in 2007, Rolex watches were more or less universally trading under MSRP. Second, it's a white Milgauss.
Even NOS...years after their silent discontinuation... I've seen them sell for under $7k. DavidSW used to have them in and out all the time.

I'll do 20K to sell my white milgauss now - any takers?? Seriously though, what do you guys want David to do exactly? He's supposed to sell below market price to become some sort of Rolex salesperson superhero for you all? He's just playing the game and well, probably not unlike many of the other business people on this forum. I'll tell you what bothers me most about this whole situation. It's the ADs who are rude to you when you walk in the store, who don't make eye contact, who brush you off, and who don't even treat you like a person. This is not to say all of them do this, some are amazing even if they don't/won't sell to you. I will also say that if some of you feel you are getting "priced out" of Rolex models then welcome to the real world where many people are priced out of things far more consequential than wrist watches. Sorry to be harsh that's just my impression reading this.
