Same and agree with this, however, my business partners hates the Pepsi and loves the Daytona. Shows that everyone sees things differently. Buy what you like and not what the masses like IMO. Good luck whichever way you go, I love both equally but if I had to choose it would be Pepsi for the win.

I am aware when the posts were made. Maybe the views of what was quoted have changed - not sure as I haven't asked the OPs - but my views have not changed:

Economics matter and the OP should get the watch they want. I remain biased and find the BLRO to be the least desirable of the BLRO, BLNR and LN. While I understand folks have a strong affinity towards the BLRO, I still believe it remains fact that the Daytona enjoys a higher status as a watch, regardless of hype, secondary price inflation, etc.

Keep the Pepsi!
Be patient and add the Daytona later.
Pepsi is great, but it would be a harder decision if it was the white Daytona.

FYI: This thread is 2 years old. We can now discuss the purchase of a Chevy Caprice Classic or Ford LTD.

Personally I believe in collecting the icons of every brand and the pepsi is right up there in terms of icons. Keep the pepsi and save for a daytona IMO

So far I have kept the Pepsi. That being said, I was just offered (and purchased) the AP Royal Oak Offshore Smoked Taupe. Now the real question is do I keep both? Also recently acquired the Royal Oak selfwinding 41 in black. I'm finding my subs and RO get the most wrist time. We'll see how the offshore changes this....

Agree with this I don’t get why everyone loves the pepsi

As another person with both, I think you figure out how to stretch and buy the daytona and figure it out, especially if you're getting it at retail. Worst case you hold on to both for a month and then sell one to fund the other. Neither lose money as a MSRP buy. I like others flip between wearing them and enjoy both tremendously, it's impossible to pick a winner. If you're paying grey prices then it's definitely not worth it to sink more $$ in to get the daytona.

I would keep the Pepsi. For me, the GMT complication is more useful, and I find that legibility of the black Daytona is not great.

No! Keep your Pepsi and your cash. The BLRO is more stunning on wrist, IMO, of course.

Both are great watches, just don't think a black ss daytona is an upgrade in comparison to SS Pepsi. Won't suggest trading in pepsi for a SS daytona.

If you like petite, difficult to read watches with no date and almost no lume, go for it. I had a Daytona and moved on from it. GMT has stayed in my collection since day 1.

Keep the Pepsi, you’ll regret getting rid of it at some point. Save up for a Daytona, better to buy and hold vs trade. Not to mention you would have to pay out of pocket anyway. Personally I like the Daytona more though

I have a BLRO on Jubilee and white dial 116520.
This is a tough decision. In my case I’d keep the Daytona due to its worth. I enjoy both watches. With that said, most days I choose the Pepsi.
As an aside, consider getting a bearded dragon.

As much as I love my Daytona, I still wouldn’t want to give up my Pepsi just to get one. I would say I probably like them both equally for different reasons.

I should add that I probably prefer a watch that is of an even lower echelon comparatively.
I find myself wearing the 124060 more than any watch in my collection these days.
Sure it’s simple, cheap, and no complications, but that is what makes it special.
Rolex really did get everything right with this new Sub.
