Would You Buy a Turquoise/Tiffany OP at MSRP If There Was No Hype?

I do like the turquoise dial on OP41, the same i like DOXA Sub Aquamarine before hype BUT will I buy it for myself, that will be a hard no. I think this color is best suit for women. When it is on male wrist, I think it looks the best on dark skin tone and hairy arm. My wrist is too white and not hairy, visualize myself wearing it, it will look feminine than awesome.

Chrono 24 listing one for $39,945. As I've said, if someone purchases for wear, more power to them. If purchased thinking they can flip for $45K, be prepared to take a loss. There are only a finite number of people willing to consider that price point and at some point, those people would have already acquired or said enough is enough and moved on to more reasonable premiums.

I wouldn't. Same as if I was offered one at MSRP now I wouldn't buy it. There are watches that are hyped that I would buy immediately only because they are hyped now, but would otherwise wait. There are watches I'd buy immediately, regardless of hype. There are no watches I'd buy just because of hype.

Only one person in the group of 4 said they liked it for what it was, and would definitely wear it even without the hype. In fact, that person requested one from his AD when it first came out, but still has not received it yet.

For myself when the colored dials were released, it was the green dial OP that I immediately fell for. That is still my favorite! When I saw the Turquoise and the Cotton Candy dials, I felt that I could never wear either of those two and they weren't for me. Today, the Turquoise has grown on me and I would probably wear it. However, if I'm honest I would have to say that it's the hype talking. I would still probably never consider wearing or buying this watch if it was readily available at MSRP with no hype.

My friends and I were curious to see how others feel about this? Needless to say, honest answers would be appreciated....Even if you bought one recently because of the hype. Nobody will judge you! :)

Yes, either the Tiffany blue or cotton candy … but these would be for my Mom.
