All posts online in low 40's are long sold or scams. This watch is NOT to be found now at least by my long hours of trying to find one, again talking NEW.
A little over a year ago I purchased a Platinum Daytona for about $42ks. Excellent shape. Few months later sold it for $40ks...you have no idea how much I regret it

My guy at mayors has all the goods in a safe in the back.. daytonas both dials, hulks, batman

my tourneau hookup in nY same thing

Bal harbour Rolex , sales guy told me straight out yes we have a lot in the safe we don't display!

Its being withheld but its physically there and out there

PS should clarify , not saying for the green daytona my bad, just read it as an overall.
I m starting to believe this is the case. After my order for the YG Green dial was cancelled, I went back to my AD (since I had already giving about 75% deposit) they were apologetic. Then he goes to the back and brings an 116610LV gives it to me and says "I've been saving this one for an special occasion". True story

Congrats, that is a great watch to get at MSRP
I think most ADs have special watches in the safe for special clients or people that make LARGE purchases or for occasions like that.

I suspect being an emerald green will make it popular in China which coupled with JM's endorsement and ability of market makers to with hold stock globally creates what we are seeing now. It jumped almost 10K in a week after the JM interview.

or respected enough companies. I would rather play it safe with a trusted seller because...

I stick to my guns and say it is going to keep going up and will be worth even a lot more
than the crazy price I paid,
But hey, I love the watch, so that was the initial motivation anyway.
And honestly, I won't say it is bad timing for me to love it, because I would
most likely have flipped already if I got it two years ago.
I can see the trend NOW, so I know to keep this one long term (and WG too).

I am making a bold prediction here...
The price of the YG Daytona w/ Green Dial will THIS YEAR go over $70,000 or more from trusted sellers (not scammers).
Who knows how long it will last but I have good sources that agree with this prediction and it will not be going down anytime soon.

This is why I titled the post like I did.
I am not comparing the watch to the 5711, I am saying it is going through a similar
cycle of climbing in price, and just like most people thought the 5711 bubble would burst,
it has not. I think the same is true with this reference.

Daaaamn. That’s gangster! I love it.

Can’t wait for the incoming.

I have a feeling that the blue will eventually climb, but probably nothing like YG.

Blue dial and WG much nicer in my opinion

I like them both, but yes, Blue dial is a daily wearer and a bit more versatile.
In fact, that was choice today ...

Thanks... David SW baby ...
After a month of hounding him, he finally pulled through for me!!
Hopefully Monday or early next week.
If David is charging me $53,000, YOU KNOW that is low-market right now.

And btw, David himself, just a month ago thought he could get one to me for $45,000.
Took him a month and market shifted $8000 IN ONE MONTH!

I am telling you the hypetrain is real as someone said.
This badboy is going up more!! Mark my words.

This yellow gold Green face daytona caught me totally off guard.

What is the hype all about? It's not even a recent release!

I did not know of the demand until last month when picking up my GMT CHNR and a group behind me walked in and asked about it. My dealer was happy to take a nominal deposit from them and said it would take around 12-18months.

So at my AD at least, it is/was still available to order.

If you're wondering, my SA wasn't rude, I asked him to take time out to serve them, as I know the AD/SA very well from my watch purchases and didn't want to stop him closing another sale.

Hype in China seems legit IMO. Guess it makes sense, dial almost has a jade like quality to it . Plus lots of green subs, but not many of these daytona's relatively speaking.

I’m an avid traveler and one of my hobbies is checking out the Rolex ADs of the cities I’m visiting. I saw this yellow gold green dial Daytona recently. The AD had two. Stunning piece! They are selling it for $41k USD, no discount. I’m going back to that city in a couple of weeks and now I’m thinking of getting one. The only reason I didn’t buy it is because I just got a 228235 recently from a TS here. Hmmm.

This thread alone will have quite an effect on the market now. It is not quite ramping, but many watches are waiting just behind the spotlight for some touchpaper to light their price spiral, and then greys know exactly how to play it once a watch is in play to keep momentum going.

Green Dial was extremely popular in China and HK from the very moment it was released. I saw myself a group of Chinese getting into na EU AD and three of them ready to pay on spot for it. And that happened almost two years ago. Just one of them got lucky! I think these two hype the global market.
