Finally us brand agnostic watch lovers can get a Rolex diver watch and guess what? There's a lot more of me than there are of you purists waiting in line to buy the next cool watch and Rolex did this because they know that too. Cheers to my first Rolex as I've already placed my order.
Great post, and please post pics when you get your watch

Rolex is dead!

When can I get one!?!

Seriously, it's a great idea to spruce up a poorly selling model and place it at a size which differentiates it from the 40mm Sub. The red text will draw some folks but overall, it's a big, bad sub on steroids. It's Bane to the bond's batman.

I don't think it's that complicated. If you view Rolex as a maker of tool watches, you're disappointed and maybe even a little sad. If you view Rolex as a luxury jewelry brand, you're probably happy.

I just spoke to one of my favourite ADs and he says they have been inundated with requests/orders for the SD43 and have already closed the list. SkyD has been less in demand, list still open. Looks like it's going to be tough going on the SD43.

I've heard the opposite, but we will see. I'm sure the SD43 will sell out quickly and get a ton of buyers, but the SkyD is on a whole different level.

I love first world problems. Now I am debating whether to get that new BMW R nine t Racer or the BMW R nine t Scrambler; also deciding which options to get.

Now back to SD43, first world problems.

How about if we all sign a petition at Change.org to Rolex and we list all the things we want and NOT want in a new Rolex watch, example would be for their next version of the Submariner or Seadweller next Baselworld 2018. Maybe if we can get a million signatures, maybe Rolex will listen. Just maybe.
But then, it would be difficult to agree on all things because some guys love the Cyclops, while others don't. Some guys love the maxi dial, while others don't. Some guys love the date window, some don't. Some guys love the text on the dial, while others don't. etc

Different folks, different stokes. As for a business, if your products don't sell well then you have to innovate or become obsolete, SD 4k had its time in the sun and now it's time for a newer version, from all ADs I have been to the new SD43 is highly desirable now.
I have tried on the old versions of SDs and none of them clicked but I really like the new SD43

Somewhat confusingly, pants in the UK also refers to underwear!

In Aus, pants = trousers
As much as I don't like to refer to my trousers as 'pants', I think the term is correct because underwear is underpants. The name kind of gives it away but I prefer the rhyming slang 'Alan's'.

Back to the OP, I wouldn't buy the SD43. It looks too similar to a Sub and from ten yards away, no one is going to be able to tell the difference. I'm happy with my LVc and D-Blue and would rather drop the money on a new SKyD

I think you'll find the correct term is pantaloons.

In the Philippines, pants are called almost the same - pantalons.

What have they done , the 43mm case is way too big and the date magnification bubble ? On a seadweller ? Oh my lord it just looks like a bamford watch ! History and heritage thrown down the pan ! Was it that hard to make a 50th anniversary watch ! No just change the dial by adding red writing like the the old double red seadwellers , nothing more nothing less .

Well done Rolex for a disasterious watch ! And you probly cost bamford a fortune in the making !
The sea dweller in 1967 was originally supposed to have a Cyclops but the technology back then was not available. Sports watches are ment to look big. The lugs on the SD43 are in proportion to the braclet and rest of the watch.

Don't you want to read the date when you 500 feet underwater? Lol

That's why I wrote "I think..." because I wasn't sure e

I suppose it should follow then that the correct term for Alan's should be underpantaloons
