the DSSD Black is the king in my opinion..I get MORE compliments on that then the Batman or the Bluesy...
the presence stands out...black with silver looks sinister.. I was in Mexico 3 years ago Cancun and wore this after swimming, at dining area, some guy asked me what it was. Fast forward: 3 weeks ago, Socal Gym, checked in and front desk asked me what i was wearing and cost...:) Yes the BLACK dial may be supposedly under but its not, I saw Tiger wearing one at US open on TV and it caughy my eye right away... The Bluesy is also wonderful but i think the DSSD Black is the soul of Rolex.;)

My AD has offered me a DSSD blk, which I turned down as I want a blue. Now I think I should buy and move on at cost to help my cause for future purchases.

I’d take the black. I’m not fond of the gradient blue/black dial and Kawasaki green text, too much going on there.

James Cameron, the person who inspired the particular dial of the watch, the design of the dial is meant to mimic the voyage of James Cameron in his Deepsea Challenger submersible mission from 2012

Maybe the JC will be gone soon but its iconic status will stay forever!

I clipped this from a YouTube interview with Reacher Star Alan Ritchson. It looks like a DSSD. My JC DSSD looks a little big on me, but he does not seem to have that issue :)

Without the cyclops the colors are more prominent. The colors, the weight, the story are all unique. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The deepsea is a classic choice, but the JC model has that unique blue dial inspired by the deepsea exploration, both are great options so go for your gut feeling on which one speaks to you more.

I just went through this when deciding on my first rolex.
It was a tough decision because the JC is unique! In the end, I felt the black dial was "classic" Rolex and I didn't know if I wanted to look at the blue dial and green text everyday.... If i had multiple watches to wear i might get the JC as a change-up but this Black Deepsea will be my daily |

Deepblue dial color nuances shades
Hi everyone, I’ve noticed lighter and darker dials / shade differences in the deep blue. Some seem more blue ant the top half and less black on the lower others opposite - could be the lighting. Are they minor nuances with different lots of dials or models? Thanks!
