Congratulations! Beautiful picture. It’s awesome that you got to share the memory with your family. That adds so much to the potential heirloom.

Personally, I wouldn’t wait the six months but I wouldn’t be surprised if my wife confiscated it for gift giving either.

From a fellow Minnesotan: congrats, and what a great story! Really happy WOS came through for you. Of all the local ADs, I have had the least luck with that store. Glad they were able to take care of you. And enjoy that Sub, it's the perfect "do everything" watch!

Yes, I want to see this PowerPoint presentation. Maybe it'll become a meme as members here use it to justify a new Sub. Good job!

Congratulations. My first Rolex was a Sub Date over 45 years ago and I still remember the excitement of it!

I decided to treat myself to a Datejust for my 40th and went into the AD to order it 6 months before. As it would happen they had the exact watch that I wanted in stock and I ended up wearing it straight away and daily for the next 16 years!

Congratulations and happy birthday for December!

Could this power point presentation be easily modified to tric., errr...convince a spouse into allowing the purchase of other coveted items? Like say.... I don't know... I'll just randomly think of something... maybe a .... ummm.... a 1996 Keswick Green Defender 110 300 tDi with a two inch lift, roof rack and winch?

BTW.. Girl Dads rule, hope your daughters arm heals nicely OP!

Thank you! She gets it off soon, only will have it for 4 weeks total.

As for the PPT, It describes why I want it, current and historic value retention, and where the $ is going to come from. Its a winning formulation. It lets your SO know this is not an impulse buy and you are not going to impact other savings goals.

Good luck... I have yet to put one together for a Porsche 911 (991) I am going to give it a little time :)

"I whipped up a power point on the why, value proposition, the legacy and where the $ would conform. She laughed the whole time and agreed"

Love it! My wife would have listened and laughed...and still said no.

I'd say wear it, no point wasting time you'll clearly enjoy it....before your son swipes it anyway
