NICE! I would never have thought of that color, but it works!

I guess it just demonstrates the versatility of the Overseas ;-)

Love the Dual Time. It's an incredible watch. How do you find the thickness, and did you try vs the three hander 4500v before buying?

I have the gen 2 chrono and have paid a deposit on the 4500v blue, but the dual time dial always looks amazing on photos!!

Hi Steve, thank you. No I didn't try the three hander but will be able to later this week. The thickness is perfect wears really well on my sub 7" wrists. I don't actually like the 3 hander something about the date window puts me off especially in a blue dial. For me it was always the dual time. The 2nd gen Chrono is lovely, I love a grand date.

I took a risk on the size but did my research and glad I did. It's sublime.

I reached in to my watch box to wind my blue dial WG Daytona and then put it back because I wanted to keep the overseas on my wrist... Not sure when I'll give some of the other watches a chance.

Amazing, glad you are enjoying it!!

I think gen 2 and gen 3 are amazing watches (gen 1 too, but I personally don't like the bracelet).

I am still thinking perhaps I see the blue three hander when I pick it up... and wish I had gone for the dual time :)

Hello All,

I am considering trading in my 49150 black dial for a blue dial dual time 7900v. Can anyone chime in potential numbers?

I have looked around on the 49150 and see some varying numbers 18k-24k. A few sold on eBay for ~22kish.

Then the 7900v is hard to gauge in this market because there just do not seem to be many around. And the most transparent one available is offered by Nashville Watch which was listed at 27k in May 2021 and now same watch is suddenly at 35k. But i have not found any sales to justify the increase, other than the 5% price increase in June. I know the market is crazy in general and everything keeps going up but anyone with information as to the real market prices would be great. Thanks

On the one hand you quote the new inflated Gen 2chrono but then question the Gen 3 dual time.

The DT retails for $27k and the model you are after is in blue.

Three things support the new price

DT production is a lot lower than the 3 hander and Chrono.

COVID further reduced production.

Blue is now boutique only

I am aware blue dial is boutique only. I inquired about the perpetual skeleton about 3 months ago and at that time the dealer I was working with could have got me a blue dial DT but not sure if that is the case now. I am following up with them again, just not sure if the market has changed that quickly. Because with say something like Ceramic Daytonas there are multiple transactions per week and you can easily track the price increase and demand, with so few listings for Vacheron in general it is much harder to follow.

Alas the market has changed VERY rapidly especially for blue dials.

3 Handers were trading well below list as recently as March. DavidSW had a silver dual time in May for around $23k...

As you say, not much in the way of transactional evidence to prove but if all thats out there is at $35k+ then either they will sell or dealers will be forced to lower their prices, I think they will continue to go one way though, sadly for those wanting one.

Spot on blue has a crazy demand because of the dial.

Silver can still be had under retail.

The bronze was going for 40% under retail as no one wanted it, now it’s nearly 50% over.

Best thing for blues is via forums, the dealers won’t lower their prices in this market

I agree with @solaire.
It was not too long ago that a preowned 49150 could be had for 12-14k fairly easily.
For the most part, the increases have been fairly consistent with maybe the exception of the blue 3 hander (because you can't get it anymore).
If you compare the % difference in price gap between old gen 2 and 3 and new gen 2 and 3 prices, you'll notice the gap is pretty similar.
Unless you just bought the gen 2, I think you'll be in the same situation then as now.
I think the longer you wait, the worse the situation could get though because I don't think it will be too long before 3 hander or DT will only be available on a completely preferential basis to existing high spend clients. But we'll see.

Very interesting, I really love the Blue 3 hands 4500V.

Anyone know the waiting time to get one?

Brown dial was going for 40% below retail??? I really wanted to try one on, but apparently it was a special run (for the middle east market) and very few made it over to the States, and couldn't find one to see in person. Ended up with a blue three hander, but wow, can't believe no one wanted the brown dial.

I can't remember the exact time frame (before Covid) but I was able to view the brown dial 4500v in person in San Diego area AD. I walked in off the street and offered me 15% without asking. Brown dial actually looked really good, but didnt think a brown dial watch went with my lifestyle.

I was told 6 to 9 months for the black dial. They weren't taking deposits for the blue.

Yes the brown came out years (2016)ago and was not loved by collectors at first.

Don't think it was as ME exclusive. It was available in Europe in both 3 hand and chrono.

I walked in and walked out with the black dial few months ago. If you want it, go grey. The market price is around retail.

Location dependent but in Hong Kong you have no chance. Existing clients might be able to get one on a new allocation for delivery in 2-3years LOL. I doubt you'd actually wait that long but getting access to put a deposit down for this particular watch and dial combination is now very difficult. Hence the price on the grey.
