Went out and tried a 5513 from approximately 1984, was in good condition and had a good price. Nearly went for it but thought it was better not to, just not ready to drop €5.5k on a watch yet, I'm such a poor student

Thanks for the nice comments.
Some amazing watches posted today.
@rolexjnj, I have never seen that Milgauss reference before. Learn something new everyday.
Beautiful and I assume rare piece Joe. When you have a minute can you tell me a little more about it?
Nothing to post. Modern Tudor today...

Hi Mark, thank you! It's a reference 1019 from 1979. It's relatively rare as not so many 1019s were produced in general. And even fewer with a black dial.

Christies did a nice write-up on it: http://www.christies.com/features/De...19-6332-1.aspx

This for me today.

This is a one-previous-owner watch from Jacek that came with all box and papers plus a letter from the owner's widow. The original owner bought it in Hong Kong when he was on leave from service as a US pilot in the Vietnam War. He survived his period of active service only to later be taken out by a bird strike over US territory. Oh, irony.

She held onto the watch for years before deciding to sell it, and now it has a good home with me. The story behind it makes it super-special to me.

Awesome watch with great history. I have one very similar with military history, box and papers. What year is yours?

Fabulous watch - sad, but great story and history. Congrats.
