The only thing I don't love about the SD43 is actually one of the main design aspects which is the red text. I wish it was an actual red. It gets orangey very quickly in most lighting; much paler than the "DAYTONA" on the Daytona's I've handled. Some of these images show it worse than others.

Obviously I still love the piece dearly. I just wish it was a commanding red.

Hmm... I find the red quite ok & recently compared it to Tudor's (Pelagos line)

Then again, here's a shot taken with a different lighting angle and I guess one could say it looks to be a bit on the "bright" side of red...

I really like my SD43 over the Sub41 but I can't seem to make the wearing experience comfortable with the thick case back. It's fine for the first few hours but at half day, I am feeling irritated with how the case back digs into my wrist. Does anyone have this experience with theirs? If yes, what is your solution?

A friend of mine is recommending that I trade it for the Sub41. My wrist size is 7.25" so I really want to keep my SD43, just need to find a way to wear it comfortably.

I think you have to play around with the slidelock adjustment by going a little tighter or a little looser until you find that sweet spot that works for you. Thats what has worked for me. Good luck!

I have been trying to find the sweet spot. If a bit loose, the watch head feels top heavy and flops around. If a bit tight, then the case back digs in. I'll keep trying. Thanks

Icon20 Mk1 vs. Mk2 dial

Does anyone know why this thread: SD43 Mk1 v Mk2 differences for the obsessive - like me! was closed? That thread helped me decide on choosing a Mk1 dial over Mk2 dial SD43!

Should we start a new thread on the subject or just discuss it here amongst ourselves?

I'll start until someone starts a thread again about the MK1 SD43.

SD43 115,308 over 7 years

This gives us an average of SD43 Mk1 production of around 16,000

I just got my SD43 back from RSC Dallas. It took a total of two weeks from shipping out to receiving it back to me!

It looks brand new! 🤙🏽

Only 16k mk1s... even less than the Sub 5512 at 17k! Collectors will appreciate the relative rarity, for a mass-produced brand like Rolex.

A pint of Sam Adams Brick Red ale goes great with an SD43!

Huh, just noticed the SD43 price went up on the Canadian site. Paid mine retail 15 200$ at the SD end of 2022 and I see it's now listed at 16 950$. Canadian dollars...

Fair hike considering the model hasn't changed
