Ok patina lovers, here is my little Tudor. Found it really beat up but with no water damage. After some TLC, movement service, new insert and bezel and a used genuine bracelet I was able to source, here it is... Wish the bezel insert was original but it was so beat up and scratched to the point that the paint had come off 1/4 of the surface so not very aesthetically pleasing IMO..

Thanks for a great read. I have the opportunity to pick up a 94010 in a trade.

There's a big catch though, which is that the movement has been swapped for a an ETA 2824. Such a travesty when you consider how rare these movements are.

How much does the missing movement hurt the value of the watch? A lot I imagine, but how do I put a price on it?

The hands have also been replaced, but that's not a deal breaker for me. I don't even know that the movement is a problem for me, until I decide to sell it.

Holy revived thread Batman!

I have the 5513 with the 17 jewel 1520 which skirted the tax. It's from 1968 and was my grandfather's. My watchmaker told me the first 1520 had bushings instead of jewels but at some point in it's history mine was updated to have 26 jewels.

Here's the picture of the movement which states 17 jewels.

A lot of Rolex/Tudor were actually shipped with 26 jewels but stamped 17 jewels for tariff reasons
