I'm looking for some opinions / guidance.
I really really want to add the snoopy to my growing collection at some point in the future. Problem is I already have my next piece set (DJ41) and I don't want to be in a position where two watches landed in quick succession. If I go DJ41 first, do people think it would be too late to add my name onto the snoopy list in the New Year (February / March time)? Or, do we think that would be a risk and I should add my name down on both watches now. Thanks everyone. |

Good luck. If they are operating more Rolex style hopefully your history would put you ahead of someone with no history higher on the list. That's what you have to get is it is a 'register of interest' it doesn't necessarily mean they allocate exactly in order.

The position on the list is totally up to the OB. So, history will help.

Visited a OB early this week. Asked about a Snoopy even though I'm not looking to buy one. He said 3-4 years, waiting list is full.

Well, if you are in the list with the deposit, you will get it, even if the reference is officially discontinued.
They will produce those watches, there is no doubt about that. Another story is if you are in the list of interest, you dont get in the official list and after 3-4 years the reference is discontinued. It that case, there is nothing to do. |

In US all the full deposits are guaranteed with a reference. Omega applied different policies for different markets. I believe you are referring to the market in Asia, and specifically in China. |

Yes that sounds right re: Asia interesting they did that assuming they forecast demand will far outstrip supply even to the point of the deposits already taken

There you go guys, new video
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gP9TgHW-fcY It seems that Omega is heavily targeting the Asian market. |

I think so too. Current advice on the DJ41 from the dealer is 3 months. I have however had some good news that a friend with a really really good history has given me his allocation slot. He’s been told 4 weeks on the snoopy which would be one of the first in the country. I’m not holding my breathe though.

My fear is many purchasing this watch are doing it to flip it for profit, sooner or later. And that would really piss me off.

Give them a few more weeks and somebody will price it higher than a 5711. If Omega contains the flippers and truly limit production rate, the value will stay fairly high. My bet is that after the initial watches will hit the secondary market this will have a consistent premium. When they will reopen the list in US, premium will drop a bit. If it stabilizes to a 5k premium, it would be a win win for Omega and customers. With some appreciation when they will (ideally and logically) discontinue the reference in 2025. Who bets Omega can play the “hot steel reference hard to get” game like other brands? |
