60 years old this year. Bumper unsigned chronometer 354 cal. Late model of the original automatic Seamasters introduced in 1949 with rare Breguet numerals. Restored by Omega in Bienne a couple of years ago.

Help please!

I've been wearing this Omega for almost 30 years. It was a bequest from my grandfather in the mid-80s, who received it when he retired from General Motors in 1971.

It still runs great but as you can see it could use a restoration of some level, and likely a new or restored dial. At the risk of imposing, can anyone recommend any reliable independent technicians or watch makers who can do factory quality work?

I hate to admit that I don't even know what the name of this model this is. Help!

Jim

Very nice!!!! Any independent watch maker should be able to service the watch. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT touch that dial!!!!! Leave it as is, or find a refinished one to use if it bothers you to wear it as is. Put the original one away. The value in a vintage watch is in it's dial, keep it original.

This arrived today... Reference 2657-4 2494 Seamster Automatic, circa 1951. Textured dial, stainless steel case with rose gold markers and hands. Caliber 342...On the wrist - wow - the "bumper" movement is quite apparent! Makes a nice addition to the "family".

My late father's old watch...

Not too bad for a 50 year old..

This one does duty at formal events and other dressy occasions.. It even sports an Omega strap and buckle..

That one is special... original... but much more important - family heirloom & keepsake. Wear it in good health!
