Endlessly fascinating and informative. Vintage Rolex watches are indeed a deep rabbit hole and this story is such a cool thing to read. Thanks for sharing your journey, Erpin.

Probably more like Rolex doesn’t know or have the ability to confirm the dial…….

No chance on that I think. If it is legit they will know. They take their time. Longer is better I think.

I hope he is well, at this point giving his absents, the watch at this moment is less important. Hasn’t been on since November.

It's been over 6 months since the watch was submitted to Rolex. I would think if it was confirmed to be genuine we would have all heard about it.

I said it 4 times in this thread alone, it's a refinished dial with a weaker radium relume.

I bet a beer with someone in this thread and Im thirsty...

It is not uncommon for Rolex Geneva to have watches for more than 6 months! I know of one they had for nearly a year.

@Erpin. Thank you for sharing the story of a rare albino dial. What a quest of truth! Very instructive thread on vintage Rolexes for me, newbie in this wonderful and excitedly risky world.

TBH I am in the same ‘ordeal’ as to authenticity of my 1501 with nice dial versus worn case! I suspect - at best - mine was serviced by competent AD Rolex men so that most parts seem authentic (Thank you @Dan S for your inputs). Was I lucky for buying my very first Rolex here, in Vietnam, market where Franken/faked timepieces seem common?

Tks again everyone here for sharing your story and thoughts.

Tbh loads of very poorly done fake and refinished white GMT dials out there.
