Thought I'd share my 1675 and 5512

Here are pics of my 5512 and my 1675. I've had the 5512 since 1984 (wow, 33 yrs) and the 1675 since 1997 (20 yrs). The 5512 has a ser no. of 3.4 and the 5512 has ser no. 2.8. I'm not the first owner of either, but they've never been polished in the decades I've owned them.
Was experimenting with some Nato straps and thought I'd share. The brown strap I bought from TRF seller Jacek about 5 years ago.
Figured no one would appreciate these more than all of you. Hope you enjoy.
Any opinions on strap vs bracelet? Just curious.
Thx!

Are you sure that's a 5512? It's got a 5513 dial on it. My 5512 is a 3.7 serial, so close to yours.

Yup, I'm sure. Dial is original, case is marked and have service records from Rolex in LA, beginning in 1984 from when Rolex service center was on Sawtelle.

Like your pic alot. Great piece.

Thanks! Very interesting about your 5512. I've never seen a two-line, non-chronometer dial on a non-gilt 5512. I thought the whole point of the reference was that it's a chronometer-rated version of the 5513, hence the different dial with four lines of text and different reference number.

I'd found a good article about that a few years ago but couldn't re-locate it - I wanted to post it here for you. I'll keep looking. As I recall the four-line showed up later in the 5512 series and there was even a period where both were produced.

Yeah, that's true, but only for the earlier gilt-dialed 5512s, from what I've read anyway. I've never seen a matte-dialed 5512 with two lines.

The four-line 5512s started in the very early 60s (gilt dial), only a couple years after the 5512 was introduced. I have never seen a matte dial 5512 with two lines, either. I'm not doubting it's a Rolex dial, but are you certain it's the original dial?

I'm sure Beaumont Miller II would have some good insight
