Any way, I did get 126755SARU last year for my collection.

Yes, you're completely correct.

I get that, but what I meant was not just anyone can walk off the street and get a rainbow or saru. I’m sure you built a healthy relationship to buy that watch.

But that's not what was being suggested in his initial comment. He didn't say all watches are easy to buy, but all watches have been easy to sell in the immediate past. There is no need to bundle to "sell" watches, i.e. From the sellers perspective.

I read it the same was Huncho did.

You forgot the most important part: Fed printing $6 Trillion and US gov handing out $3 Trillion in stimulus. The single biggest increase in M2 money supply in US history. The EU did similar and hence you have an “everything bubble”.

Less than a week to Christmas…where’s the rebound everyone was talking about? LOL

Going to be fun watching prices continuing their decline in 2023. It’s far from over, with no bottom being tested.

Happy holidays.

Unfortunately, I don't have Moda access. I hope you don't mind me asking, but where are 15450s (silver) and 118239s atm? Contemplating a 15450, 15550 (if I get the call) or a 118239 next year. Front runner is the 15450 atm, but a DD would also be nice...

Believe it or not I think the UK Rolex secondary market is done. I was bored this afternoon so decided to ring round about 8 prominent grey dealers in the UK, watchfinder etc etc and offer some 'popular models' that I don't actually own.

Not a single one wanted to buy a watch. Even on consignment. Seems that the day of people flipping watches is done.

Sounds like a good use of time. Maybe you don’t have them because you’re not being productive with it eh?

But prices for any of the larger dealers don't seems to suggest they want to sell anything either!? UK is a really odd market.

At least the US has pretty transparent pricing in moda (not perfect...) and large greys who sponsor on here who have at least historically wanted to buy/sell regularly (I dealt with a few multiple times pre-covid). Appreciate even those guys have slowed a lot recently too though by all accounts.

15720st dated this week, BNIB full set for 29k.

That’s the same price as MSRP, and doesn’t even factor tax. We’re at discounts now for brand new watches, and there will be much more to come.

I don’t doubt that some watches will go under rrp at the greys but it will be the less desirable ones as the one you’ve mentioned. I’ve seen that kicking around for 25k here and retail is 24,900!

According to greys and some folks on here every Rolex, AP, and PP are desirable.

Yet, you have new RO offshores selling for like 12-15k off retail. 15500s getting price cuts every week and still not selling.

Sure Daytonas and Jumbos will never sell for MSRP but I think it’s a strong possibility that run of the mill royal oaks will get to +/- MSRP.

Just wait. Nothing is moving at their prices. But we have to also understand that if they make a sudden drop, it’s gonna be very negative for the UK market. Maybe there are some “back door” selling happening at big greys LOL!

After Christmas and probably New year we will probably see more decline

Strange post… the guy was just testing the waters—what’s the big deal?

Please, not another poster who comes on this thread and starts insulting people who are getting excited at the prospect of getting the watch they want for a reasonable price.

I get it — if you bought a Daytona or Royal Oak at top of market you are not happy where things are going. However, if you don’t like the topic there are hundreds of other threads you can view.

At that price it will be a long wait or watch only (naked).

I’d agree. In a similar way, I’ve been messing around from the purchasing side. I flagged 8 available U.K. watches on eBay about 2 weeks ago. I love that they call it my “watch-list”…

All are BNIB or at least mint/ unworn, competitively priced compared with the last year and available from reputable sellers/ can be viewed in brick & mortar stores. There have been several discounts and offers, some quite substantial and not one of them has sold. Astonishing at this time of year - looking forward to some sensible prices in ‘23!!

"Swiss watches exports to the UK continue to rise despite sales slowdown"

The combination of softer sales and continuously strong imports of Swiss watches should mean stock levels rising with UK wholesalers and retailers.
2023 will be an interesting year for watch buyers.
