Agree with thuilln on this. Post is for vintage Rolex. I log on to see how uniquely each of these vintage watches ages and wears its patina. Beyond that there are plenty of other places to find some love.

It was a bit harsh. I’m sure Goochy wasn’t posting a non-Rolex watch just to piss anyone off. Plus, there’s more than a few members that keep posting non-Rolex watches on this thread, and way more often than him (Mbalce, for instance)

To be honest I hadn't even realised it was a "Rolex only" thread, the title just says "vintage" and when I posted my first one (Milgauss 1019) I just clicked "last page" and posted. I won't do it again, promise.

X2. Public forum. If someone doesn’t like a post, just skip it. Easy to do.

Also, that Steinhart is certainly vintage Rolex-inspired, at least!

Kowaco keeps posting pictures of Non-Rolex watches, almost like he does it on purpose. It gets annoying, but hey, it’s just a watch forum.. I’ll just ignore him.

It wasn’t directed at Goochy. Now let’s see beautiful vintage Rolex instead of bitching (I’m guilty).

big block

Does anybody who has seen both a silver dial big red Daytona and this silver dial big block in person know if the finish on the dials looks similar? From picts they look pretty close.

either way this piece has a lot going for it IMO.

Yes, they are similar, but there are variations in the "silver" dial 6263 Big Reds. Not all of them are as silver as the Tudors. In other words, the finish on some of them is close to yours but not on others. Some 6263s are more ivory/cream with a hint of iridescence, like my 6.0 million.

thanks for insight. Really nice Big Red. My Tudor dial has a radial pattern and the silver picks up some shades that are almost light pink in the light. Subtle but there is a color shift.

Just the 2. The '85 sub is my frequent wearer. The pepsodent relume on my original gilt dialed II. 56 6536/1 annoys me but is still a lovely wearer
