A GMT 1675 or 16700 would be perfect but would be happy enough with a 16800 matte dial or a 5513 or 14060 two liner.

There aren’t many perfect watches but this is sure one of them IMO.

I would wear a 116610LN every day if I had one.

If I had to chose only one, it would be my Daytona on OF. A close second is my GRNR followed by my classic Sub date.

My 124060 would be the only Rolex I would keep if I had to abandon the rest. I just think it's the perfect representation of the brand.

I might as well have a one watch collection because it’s pretty much all I wear. I have just over a dozen other watches - many of them very nice, but I love wearing the Explorer the most. It’s the reference standard for a GADA to me. |

I don’t think there is a wrong answer; but, Polar Explorer II 16570.

116710LN My first Rolex. An old one but good one. Been around the world with me. Was my daily for years then it sat for a few years and now it’s back as my daily. I appreciate its understated vibe. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

What Rolex would you want for a one watch collection
My answer will likely change after lunch today, but at this moment, I think it would be a 36mm Platinum DD
w/ baguettes. For a DD with diamonds, I think it’s wildly versatile, special and a rare bird. All factors I value in a “one and done.” Ironically, a watch I don’t even own. Hold my beer….. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Dj41
Of course, I just pondered this same question just before Christmas. At this time in my life, my age, my work dynamics ( 120+ days a year in SE ASIA) it just made sense for 'me' to get a DJ41, WG, ( even though I went with diamond on black indices) .
I wanted something with a small amount of bling, but not too flashy. Something dressy, yet so can be worn casual. |

Probably my 14060M. It’s a two-liner (non chronometer) so with the aluminum insert and rattley bracelet, it’s the last Sub to have an original ‘50s feel. I can still time dives with it, yet it’s thin and dressy enough to go with a blazer or suit. Bonus that I have good memories of the hunt for it, since I found it at a mom-and-pop AD a few years after it was discontinued.

Easy. I only have one Rolex, a GMT Master.
And it happens to be my favorite. If I ever purchase a Rolex, it will be another GMT Master, be it a II, III, or whatever iteration. And it would almost certainly be blue/red. Last edited by ETonePJ; 31 March 2024 at 10:33 AM.. Reason: Attached image |

For me, it would be my SD4K. Hands down, no doubt.

One watch is a possession, more than one watch is a collection.

My tastes have changes over the years, 6 years ago I would have said 116600 sea dweller, but today it’s 116710/126710.
