Sounds good. Called my AD and they still have no idea when they’ll have for me to try. Has anyone here tried fitting a nato on the 40 yet? I wonder if it has the same issues with little space between the case and spring bars as the 36.

My opinion on the new 40 explorer
I am not usually one for non-diver or chrono's but this 40 version of the explorer really is unusual as it wears incredibly different to any other Rolex I have tried lately. With the larger bracelet/clasp dimensions it really takes this watch to another level comfort wise. I have never taken it off my wrist since picking it up. That is unique for me.
Overall the watch seems to hit the perfect sweet spot for me and cant see it not being in rotation. A sure win for Rolex this one

When I was at the AD to get my name on the list for a steel Rolex she recommended me the 40mm explorer and she brought a one for me to try and she added this is much more easy to get and it will not take too much time to arrive.. and you can never understand how it looks on your wrist before adjusting it to your wrist.. and she added trust me this is your exact size.. and after a year of waiting I got the call.. she adjusted it to my wrist and it was the right watch for me.. 40mm is the only way to go in my opinion for many ..

Some claim the proportions are off but that is rubbish and simply personal opinion, which can (and has been) said about every Rolex thus meaningless.
Well you can be right.. I wish the explorer name was at the buttom like submariner or the other sport models.. and the matte dial is really unique.. but 40mm makes me forget all the other downsides as you mentioned above..
