Thank you!

Some very good photos to compliment the text, and of course right at the back the estimated production numbers for each reference and its variants - it is pointed out that the production numbers are estimates based on the Rolex archives, so perhaps not 100% accurate, but probably, given the source data, the most accurate around. |

I had never heard about the Royal Navy involvement in testing prototypes in Loch Fyne. Having dived there enabled me to appreciate the conditions too. Testimonials from Sylvia Earle, David Doubilet, James Cameron and others. I think it's a good book but the nature is a bit of a puff piece and I could do without the James Bond and Hollywood stuff in it. The Blancpain Fifty Fathoms book is more dive oriented and I prefer it, to be honest

Still claiming the first waterproof watch with the 1920s Oyster and no mention of the Depollier waterproof watches of World War I, I suppose?

Can someone please summarize the models it covers? Is it all about the sub or it covers other line-ups as well?
TIA

It is after all is said and done, a publication that's dedicated to the Rolex Submariner and all that goes with it since the inception of the model in 1953 and to the exclusion of all else. Besides, i like looking at the pictures as a snapshot of the times and it's not like there's not any information contained within it that was basically unknown. Though i believe i had previously come across the production numbers of >500 for the 5517 many years ago on an outstanding watch forum. It's rather nice to have the numbers confirmed in an official capacity |

Especially if your crafting the history and the story yourself. Besides, what's the big deal with droping a silly word out of the narative here and there Like who really cares about a word such as "Vindication" anyway? It only gets in the way and clutters everything up in your story. |

If it matters - when this book is ordered from that $83 place, they fully charge your credit card immediately(!) even though they don't have in stock.
Not a 'pending' charge. Interesting... Proper procedure to me is to place a pending hold when ordered, and put the full charge thru only once shipped. I cancelled. |

For its' faults it's still a good addition to my library and I recommend it to Submariner fans

Does the book distinguish production numbers by 126610LV MK1 vs MK2?

There are a lot of Rolexes out there.. it's nice to see people wearing them out in the wild versus locked up in the safe.
