tol, we have tons of rich people back home. the problem is there are more poor people than the rich ones. and the gap between the two is pretty far.

Yes, chenx15 is correct... it is not that there is no one rich here... the rich are really rich, and the poor are really poor.

True, most polticians(not only pinoy) wear rolex, in my opinion by wearing such shows power and wealth(mostly TT/YG DDs and some younger generation go for TT/SS Daytona). Filipino-Chinese businessmen or professionals love it too. We Asians are the top customers of rolex, and that's a fact.

Yesterday i went to greenbelt looking for shoes(an outlet of Sledgers), I saw 2 chinese looking filipino in their early 40s fitting a business kinda shoe, both of them in rolex all TTs, Daytona and DD. I then proceeded to the newly opened outlets of high-end watches (at JLC), a not so young guy(late 20s 0r early 30s) just picked up his Limited Edition Master Compressor Extreme Chrono in Platinum only 950 made worlwide, about Php450-500K.

A personal observation;
Not to put down our kababayans but people in general tend to identify rolex or omega pretty quick as an expensive watch(for the rich).
But not too many have an idea about Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, Girard Perregaux, Audermars Piguet, JLC, A Longe & Sohne, and many more high end watches with price ranges at US$ 5,000 to a whooping $200,000 a piece.

culture dictates what's luxury pare ko. rolex was the "it" watch until i got one.
now that i have four rolex i'm gunning for a patek or an AP royal oak.

but in the philippines rolex is king when it comes watches. but i think after GB5 has open things may change a bit.

True, very true. Pareng Oscar is already head over heels mad over Canada because of an @$$ from another thread but i have to say this. in Canada the Poor are very powerful. we are a democratic country with a socialist idealism. it's pretty amazing.

Pareng Chenx15, I envy your stature. If only I get the opportunity of living there(impossible at this time). How life could have been.

Toronto, i know someone. it's going back down to three. i'm trying to sell my DJ kasi wala ng wrist time. sinusuot ko atleast 5 hours a week para sa oil and winding stuff. kung alam ko lang na gusto mo sana. bingay ko sayo for a good price (kababayan discount) and kakauwi lang ng parents ko ngayon sa pinas eh.
