That 7900 is gorgeous. I love the flexibility it has with the different strap colors. Black has that as well, makes them so versatile.

OK, here are a few shots comparing the blue 4500 and 7900. I hope this helps others considering options since it it a tough call to make "sight unseen."

When I bought the 4500 black I left a deposit for the 7900 blue. I am lucky to have both (as well as an agreeable wife).

Like I said earlier if you can find a local dealer with something used that may be a good opportunity to see something in person. That's how I was able to see and compare the blue 4500.

Congrats FW! Looks fantastic! Hoping to get the call before the end of the summer. How about some details? Did you go grey or order through the boutique and if you went the boutique route, how long did you have to wait?

Went grey after the boutique told me no chance for 3 years or so. I did get the call for a SS FiftySix Blue dial, though.

Honestly I loved my Gen 2 DT & for ages everyone slept on the Gen 3 DT.

It could easily be a single watch collection, but that’s never going to happen as Vacheron’s are too addictive once you start acquiring them!

My first Vacheron. I love it. A crappy pic, but the rose gold looks pretty darn good on both the brown as well was the blue strap. I also ordered a white rubber strap, but I am not expecting it for 3-4 months.

What a watch!

Thanks, all! Regarding the white strap, I saw a 7900v for sale with an aftermarket strap in white. I think it could work for me in the summertime.

I just got an email from an AD advertising Vacheron's for sale, including black dial Dual Time Overseas.

I guess it is a Father's Day related solicitation.

Aren't these on allocation? I gotta believe this does not necessarily mean they have these in stock.

Anyone else getting AD ads for Father's Day watches for those models that are usually unavailable?
