Hope there isn't water in my movement!

I rinsed off my SubC yesterday under the tap, but the triplock crown was locked all the way 100% shut. I made sure of that before I rinsed it.
Today when opened the crown to check if everything was functioning normally, I noticed that the winding mechanism felt much grittier than usual.
-I checked for any sort of water in the dial, and there is no amount of fogginess or visible moisture.
- It is keeping time accurately, same as always.
- When i put my ear against the movement, it sounds the same as normal, and if anything a tiny bit louder than usual.
The main problem is that I am feeling a resistance when winding it, and usually the winding process is very smooth. I am not overwinding it, since I have not wound it in a while, as it is my daily wearer.
It is about 2 years old now.
Does anyone have any advice as to how I can check whether everything is okay without taking to an AD?

unfortunately the AD i got it from is a 45 minute drive from home

Assuming it's a ss watch, average age your risking 7k vs 45 minutes. RT uber $200.

I've seen this before, nothing to worry about. Let it wind down a bit and try again. I'm willing to bet it will feel smoother in the morning.

That's like 2/3 the commute time that I make M-F to the office (one way!).

Most likely the mainspring is fully wound and slipping in the barrel. I would not sweat it.

I agree to let it run down and check the wind from a dead stop. If your still questioning it, that 45 minute drive is more than worth it. Heck, it gives an excuse to try on a few different models--win,win,win :) good luck

You're overthinking things..

It is not likely at all that any water got into your watch - even if the crown had not been screwed down. There are just too many 0-rings and gaskets inside the tube and case to let that happen on a new watch.

sUBc, even without the crown screwed in, is plenty rock solid.
If you do NOT see moisture inside the crystal, you should be fine.

best way is to take it out in the cold, then bring it in and expose to heat to see if it will fog up....

Anyway, to the OP and his watch, I'll bet that because you washed it and you're really paying attention to everything in standard Rolex-owner paranoia mode, you *think* it's different. But it's probably not. If there really is any difference, it could just be that the o-ring for the stem is now a bit damp (on the outside) and grabbing it a bit better, giving a bit more resistance. That's all. I'm sure it's fine.

look if his watch has water in it, IF. then taking the back off is the first thing I would do and let it air dry, it prevents corrosion. You may want to service it later but it is a very good step if you know you have water in your watch.
