Payment Method At Boutique

Hey everyone, I have a random question about paying for the watch at the boutique. Does AP accept AMEX without any additional fees? I was also wondering if anyone that purchased an RM at a boutique can chime in too on their payment process. I was hoping to get one with AMEX to stack up on points, but was curious if it's wire only at AP/RM or the CC method has fees. Appreciate it!

The AP boutiques have never charged me a fee for paying with AMEX.

I was told at RM Aspen that new customers require bank wire and cannot ship. Not sure the validity of that.

In my experience with AP, Amex was fine without extra fee.

Never had any problem with extra fees with Amex except for small businesses not accepting Amex

Understood, thank you. I’m thinking about getting a rm30-01 from the boutique despite knowing that grey market is significantly cheaper - just to build a relationship. Not sure if it’s worth it, still trying to contemplate it over the weekend.

U.K. so different rules maybe but always used Amex without any issues.

Retailers here used to have the right to charge fees with credit cards but it was banned some years ago.

No official boutiques of any brand will charge extra for any payment method they accept. Only smaller grey dealers may charge extra for come cards.

no fees, but AMEX must be personal card, they won't accept Business cards at AP Boutique or AP House

From my experience, AP boutiques usually accept AMEX without additional fees, but it's best to double-check with the specific boutique. As for RM, some boutiques might prefer wire transfers, but again, it's worth asking directly. Using AMEX for points is a smart move if there are no extra fees!

When I got my first AP in 2021, the boutique made me pay half via bank transfer. They sent me a payment link to my email before I went to the boutique. I paid the other half with credit card. For all subsequent purchases, I've just paid via credit card.

Have paid @ RM and AP with AMEX - no issues. RM has a max swip of $99k, so I had to do multiple swipes..

I saw someone pay with a huge wad of cash at one of the Geneva boutiques a few months ago (or at least he tried to).

AMEX has worked for me on many occasions, though wire transfer is also totally acceptable. But why not get points/cash back?

Of course, check your credit card issuer! A while ago I didn't have the credit limit to purchase a watch outright, so I had fun going to a Swiss bank and getting those 1000CHF bills. Man I was sweating and nervous walking from the bank to the AP boutique but...it was Switzerland

My AD (Devon’s) does not accept anything but visa or Mastercard on Rolex. No Amex unfortunately.

Paid using AMEX with no additional fees. However, it must be your own personal card. They won't accept company cards.

I'm a little confused by the "no business card" comments - I have used an amex business card (which only has my name on it) for the last 4 AP purchases w/o problems or comments. Omega boutique (just yesterday) didn't care either.

The only time I've been told no business cards is when doing a online order. There was no mention of this policy at the boutique previously, but YMMV. I hadn't heard of it until my last order in March. It sounds like something new being passed down from corporate tbh.

AP is fine. I live in NJ so have the NYC boutique send a payment link for NJ tax vs paying NY tax.

RM first purchase is either wire or swipe in store.

It does seem like a weak market for the newer 30. It’s definitely a nice piece. 10% swing, I’ll do boutique any day. Is it more than that?
