So you've just spent $3-400k in the grey market on a collection...

...a $9000 case seems reasonable.

If I’m dropping 9 bags on a case, it’s not that one

Seems like a nice 9k case someone can easily take. I’d rather just buy a nice safe.

I suppose this is just for use at get togethers. I barely know what a $9000 watch should be much less a case.

I expected outrage at the price...I forgot where I was.

If the case comes with a black dial Explorer 2 then I’d say jump on it.

A need to show off conspicuous consumption to online strangers? Priceless.

...and some of us wonder why the larger world laughs at Rolex snobs...

Putting half that money towards a true high-security safe and spending $300 on a custom case from Etsy seems way more logical to me...

Me too but you need to get inside the head of my imaginary collector who just bought all those watches last week on the grey market.

This is the case I bought off Ed Sheran at one of his charity auctions.
It’s a one off Anvil flight case to match his tour luggage and apparently he used it for some of his Pateks. Cost me a couple hundred - I bought it, filled it with watches once, never used it since as it doesn’t fit in the safe…

This is the logic I came here for! Bigger safe means more watches, right?

If I spend $300-$400K on grey market watches, I better buy a suitcase because my wife is going to kick me out of the house.

That is true!...I suppose after a few grey market Daytonas that this is a tiny drop in the bucket.

Would have instead spent $150K buying those watches from authorized dealers and having enough money leftover to buy a new 911, build a garage, and install a decent safe.
