Urgent.. SS Daytona....UK

I've just had a call this morning for a Blk/face SS Daytona from an AD in Scotland.
Would be nice to see it go to a forum member.
If anyone is interested PM me.
It's probably a long shot as I need to let them know by lunch whether or not I'm going to pass on it.

Cheers Paul

That's a really nice gesture!

I am looking to get a white face (actually do they do dial swaps?) and would drive from London to get one at RRP and even more so if it was a Signet Group store so I could use my 10% discount card as well!

Hope someone here bags that and does not flip it.

It is a very nice gesture indeed, good to see a forum user willing to give information like this to help out other forum members. I have been after a Daytona for a while but have just bought a GMT IIC last week so not in a posistion to spend that amount of money currently which i regret to say because this opportunity is very rare, specially someone willing to give out information on a forum to where one can be picked up....

Thanks,
trek

If anyone does want to work out a deal (not flip for profit), I have a white SS and would prefer black. So there may be some mileage in a swap.

Last time I asked at St James Sq, they told me it isn't free on a Daytona, they don't charge for the dial, but they do charge for the work as it is more involved than a simple Datejust/Explorer II swap.

Hi,

I have pm'ed Cully to pat him on the back for his selfless gesture and asked whether it's too late to work something out (probably likely) but if not will drop you a line as I would prefer white after buying a SS GMTIIc.

I really hope that a wearer, and not a flipper, gets this particular one.

I had both my WG Daytona done for free twice.

Nice sentiment Paul.

If it were at the old price I would have beaten Claude to the PM.

.... but £5730? Too much money for that watch.

Great gesture by Paul
Paul any update
A black dial is what I'm waiting for, just trying to get my head around the latest price increase.
Was the Scottish AD contacting you Paul, because they were unable to sell it locally?

At Rolex directly, or via your AD?

I thought it would be via an AD, your AD has swallowed the cost then, I think if you take it in yourself they would charge you.

Nice one Paul, after one myself, althoug the new price is an absolute joke and will price many out of the market, but again I'm after a white face.

The price is getting a little bit too close to the next level of chronos, although it's still a Daytona at RRP so well worth it!

Hi All

Bit embarrassed as this is my first post having only joined forum recently, but I owe Paul and his wife a massive favour for fisrtly giving me the chance then helping me organise the deal. Please be assured the watch is to wear not sell on

Hopefully the watch will be with me tomorrow, I will organise a post with pics.

Can I also thank site owners/mods for creating and running this site in the first place which has given me the chance to take Paul up on his very kind offer, I only hope in the future I can help others in a similar way.

Phil

Great news!! Well done Paul
I must say that because it was in Scotland he even PM'ed me before creating this thread, but unfortunately i have just bought a PAM so i was not in the position to take up his wonderful offer. Not every day you get a message like that. Thanks

And Phil that is great and we all look forward to the Pics
and welcome to TRF

Fantastic news, i'd hate to see a good favour like this end up on somewhere like Blowers-Watches or watches.co.uk with an extra £1500 on it. Although to be fair i do know a couple of guys who bought them and just never got on with them so it's good to get it at RRP incase you do decide it doesn't sit right or is too bulky/heavy.
