Waiting for the call…

So I’ve been waiting for a call from a few local AD’s. Earliest registered interest was July ‘22. Request is for jubilee-only BLNR or BLRO.

Have kept up relations with a few in-person chats and holiday emails.

Request was for an allocation before my 50th this June.

I get the sense that at least one of my AD’s will come through.

Question is this:

Has anyone gotten a call on a weekend?

Would like to know if I should turn off my anticipation on Saturday/Sunday :)

Do we have a sense when AD’s get shipments or make calls for allocations?

Thanks!

Actually I think oddly all of mine were calls on a weekend if I recall correctly.

It entirely depends on whether you're busy at the weekend.

If you're busy, you might get the call.

If you've nothing to do, the AD won't even consider calling you.

ADs can sense these things.

My last call from an AD came when I was on vacation overseas.

Ads seem to have a sixth sense about these things.

Luckily, it was still available when I returned back to NYC.

Telling my wife that we had to cut the trip short so I can buy another Rolex was not an option. It would have led to the dog house or divorce, lol.

What expectations on a weekend would be different than those on a weekday?

Inquiring minds wish to know

Anecdotally my AD seems to get its deliveries on Thursdays. My last four calls have been on Thursday afternoons. The first two I picked up that day and the store was busy with other people picking up too. The second two were shipped to me the following Monday as they don’t like to ship over a weekend.
It is possible I guess that their shipment comes in on Wednesday and it takes a day to put them into inventory then assign them to their new owners. Whatever, the timing has been very consistent, never had a call on Saturday. The only exception I can imagine would be if a couple of clients before you turned it down so your turn moved up.

Most ADs are open on Saturdays, so I assume they call customers on that day. I have been called on Sundays, so ADs can be eager to place watches with customers as people higher on the list say no whenever that may happen.

It really depends on the AD. For the national chain AD its been weekdays (after a jewelry purchase lol). For the "family" AD thats open to "bundling" it usually the last week of the month (sales goals).

From my AD…. All calls have been weekdays. BUT, my AD is very transparent I have got a few pieces on the weekend that were for someone else and they passed it up. All my “hype” pieces have been weekday.

It's not depend on what day it is.
It's depend on buying history, your relationship with the AD. If both are zero, they never call you, especialy with the BLNR and BLRO :)

I’m not sure if anyone would know for sure if you will get a call on a weekend or weekend.

Why would that even matter? Just pick up the phone when they ring!!!

If they ring, because obviously a GMT is a hard to get watch that the AD will prefer to give to a customer with history.

Not to be cynical but the fact you want one for your 50th may be a reason not to allocate you one. It suggests you only buy for very special occasions. They want customers who buy whenever they get a bonus or sign a big deal. Or just because it may be a Tuesday and they have a million to spend. Especially in NYC.

I hope they come though for you though.the market is getting better for buyers.

Not uncommon to get the call on a weekend.
One of my ADs usually gets deliveries on Fridays which would make sense for a Saturday or Sunday call.

Will vary by AD but midweek seems to be common since it seems they receive notification or actual deliveries on Tuesday. That too might vary though.
