Is this COKE insert genuine
Hello Gang,
Looking at purchasing this insert, is it genuine? The font is bigger than my pepsi insert. Thanks 20230621_193530.jpg20230621_193518.jpg20230621_193513.jpg Sent from my SM-F936B using Tapatalk |

Have to agree any anyone paying silly money for these inserts must be crazy when easy to get from Rolex themselves.

If your GMT is post 2003/2004 the service insert from RSC is period correct. If your GMT is older than that the RSC servcie insert will not be the same type (Mark 1, Serif or fat font serif).

I can change it myself in about 3 minutes but Rolex won't just give you one- again, things have changed it's not how it was 30 years ago Same with bracelets. Sent from my SM-F936B using Tapatalk |

That insert looks genuine to me. I would put this on the vintage section there are some actual experts there that will help you out. I’m amazed at some of these comments. As if Rolex would ever sell a coke insert to one that wants it for a 16700.

You probably haven’t gone to an AD since a long time... Got mine changed recently: 188$ with tax. AD will not sell you an insert alone. They say Rolex requires them to have a Rolex authorized watch repair person do the change AND keep the old insert as « only done on an exchange basis ». Crazy...

And as mentioned by you and several other posts - you can’t just by an insert, they take the watch and put it on. |

I don't believe anyone will be able to tell you the authenticity of a bezel insert unless it's way off. That said, no one will be able to tell on the wrist either. If it's really a big deal for you those that say go to the AD are giving the right advice.

It is that easy I just did it in local boutique that has Rolex watchmaker and service center.. it was $64 plus tax for brand new coke ( You can also mail your watch to RSC and request It ( they will likely keep the old insert when installing new) Id stay away from “faded “ inserts As lot of funny businesses happening A. They look old B. Due to people paying stupid money for “faded” … lot of fade is done with chemicals , etc If faded insert is In perfect condition, it is a major red flag.. Advice is, buy new Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Walk in to an AD with a watchmaker and parts account and buy a known authentic one for $58.
If they don’t have the gmt insert they will order you one.

Anyway, apologies OP for this derailed exchange. I’m not 100% sure but it looks pretty good to me. Do you have any pictures of the back? It might help some of the experts here confirm. |

If it is, then that’s an issue and you’ll need to go aftermarket obvs. This was at st james approx 3 months ago and the cost for a Pepsi was about £110 inc fitting and keeping the old one. Edit - the insert looks ok btw - and in all honesty it’s bloody hard to tell. Personally while I can I’d go to RSC but that’s not convenient for many I acknowledge. |
