What am I missing here why so cheap?

Hey everyone, what am I missing here these have dropped to 1/2 of retail and why are they dumping and is there something wrong with them? Do they not wear well? 26394OR pink gold

Someone who has one please chime in!

Are they just not exciting?

Are they blah?

But $55k from $109k is an aggressive drop even for a code.

I’m asking because if there is nothing wrong I’m gonna pick one up.

I don't think there is any wrong with the movement or the watch itself. It is a CODE 11.59, and most wanted this QP on the Royal Oak, not CODE 11.59.

Dr. Mike has this watch. Curious to know what other collectors have to say...

Seen from side the crown is not centred in the middle of the case.
Beside that its a steal. Price is so tempting. I would go for it if I had extra money to put in watches right now.

So they're way below list... the market is the market. Looks like a dealer group anyway. If the seller is vetted, you're not "missing" anything.

I bought a time only code in white gold when they came out from the boutique and I love it. I recently purchased a used chrono in white gold, new it was $48k plus sales tax. I paid $23k for mine. The curved case has to be appreciated in person, pictures do not do it justice and they wear great on the wrist with this rubber coated strap.

It’s an amazing watch, but unfortunately got released at the same time as the other launch codes which were obviously big misses, so the qp never really picked up steam. It also got a bunch of price increases along with RO QP. This has made many collectors think twice about getting a QP in general, knowing that more technically complicated complications like chronos are 1/3rd the price of QPs

1) The brand itself is a bit lost 2) No one wants a code

I have 2 of the RO QP's and yes I love them but I want to mix it up and I have to say the Dial is amazing and for $55K kinda seems like a real deal! I have to say I wrote a blog about the watch market in Late Dec and its all coming home now DEALS DEALS DEALS

I have to say the only thing I would change about this piece is a Seconds Hand as I personally love movement on a watch. and yes the comp pieces are very spendy and the people who picked these up to get allocations definitely are getting punished now if they are trying to move off of them!
Im happy to pick one up just didnt realize that they have fallen so far..

It’s a great piece at grey pricing, the aventurine dial is really interesting. I believe these were discontinued.

Still on the website?

If it were me I would fancy the BC/WG over the RG, interesting so many more are available at these prices in RG over WG.

Don't own one, but when I tried it "blah" was the last word I'd have used to describe it.

It's a wonderful timepiece. Nothing wrong with it. But as much as many condemn AP as a one pony brand, people are still only interested in their ROs. Any new RO releases , people complain as no novelty. Any non RO releases, people bashes it Contradicting views, isn't it?

There’s quite a bit of logic/wisdom packed into this small post.

I’m sure someone here knows better than I do about how/when AP removes things from current collection on the website, but I heard the code QPs were discontinued earlier this year.

Wonder if they got so hard to sell that no one actually bought one... Easy to discontinue a sticky product

It's a Code. Even aftermarket dealers don't want to stock these.

The current QP movement is being discontinued in both Code and RO.

I think that the price you are seeing is what the wholesale or a little higher.
Not what the large dealers are asking. Around 30% below second hand retail.
Large dealers are probably offering 40% below retail.

Yes, I know. I would consider that retail.
Or what a watch would sell for on an ebay auction, I would consider the true retail.

What I see on Chrono24 or sellers that can list buy it now offers on ebay forever, over retail.. They get a premium, because of a presumption of trustworthiness, I guess?

I have the Code QP in rose gold and I love mine. It’s absolutely stunning and the dial is gorgeous to stare at. The first iterations introduced a few years ago had a much lesser msrp. Not sure what year the ones being sold are. But that is in fact cheap if they are half off. A bargain.
