Everest Band & Glide Lock Experiment
After reading a few TRF posts on the Everest Band I decided to give it a go. I also didn't want to fuss with my own bracelet, so I picked up an aftermarket glide lock bracelet on the bay. However, a few days ago, Everest put up a few DLC (Diamond Like Coating) glide lock clasps with 3 links on their site for sale. It was a deal sealer for me, and I quickly ordered one as I really wanted to keep the uniformity amongst the band; that being all one color. The bracelet ordered from the bay went back to the seller.
Needless to say the Everest crew are a group of professionals, and when someone tells you that their combined staff watch count exceeds 100, you figure your getting a solid product. All arrives, and assembled. I decided that because I missed wearing a rubber watch in uniform (I wore a Suunto for 8 years daily), that I would wear the Everest Band, and their DLC glide lock clasp for a full 30 calendar days. At the end of the 30 days I will rate the following qualities of the band and clasp on a scale of 1 - 10, with 1 being poor, and 10 being excellent. Six qualities will be rated: Fit, Comfort, Durability, Scratch Resistance (Band & DLC Clasp), Odor Resistance, and Appearance. Here of some pics. See you in 30.

Nice, wish they had a strap for the DSSD.

I ordered the hunter green one to go with my watch....I also ordered the glidelock clasp to try it out, they only had two left. As soon as I get it, I will post pics.

I'm fairly certain the clasp they are using, is the same one from the same guy on Ebay. They recommended that seller as a place to go for one. It is a quality clasp (at least the one I got of the Bay was). Wore mine for a golf trip in Vegas, and the band and clasp is SUPER comfortable!!! Glad to see you can get the clasp straight from Everest now.
I'll also have a review of the orange on my 16570 here after a few more weeks of wear!!

I didn't realise you could send Ebay items back because you changed your mind. That is great work.

These were a test batch. We studied the Rolex case and bracelets, and we wanted to have a solution that would create a fun, new look for the Rolex enthusiast. Once we have feedback from our clients, that have purchased these, we will take it into consideration when we release a production product. Great shots OP!

I like their strap, it seems to be well made and a good match for the glidelock clasp.

Thanks guys, we do this for you! We always want to make sure that our modifications are well thought out and improve the watch in some way. Comfort, durablity, weight, etc. We have made it our priority to focus on this "peice of the pie." We will try and get it on your wrists ASAP. Any suggestions will be listened to, and taken into consideration.
We have been burned by promising something and then not hitting our deadlines. The good news is that what we released are good, but they are prototypes. The end piece will be fairly priced and only improved on from this one, just like our current straps were. Thanks for the compliments! They are very much so appreciated, by team working late nights and long hours. |

If the Everest glidelock is anything like the Rolex quality you will be in for a real treat! I'm excited for the 30 day final result, because right now it looks great!
Thanks for sharing your experience!
