Considering a change.

Currently have a 42 mm Planet Ocean 2201.50, 2500 caliber, which I really like. Accurate, looks great.

Am very attracted to the Breitling Colt, 44mm, blue dial, blue rubber/composite strap. I'm torn, as I really like my Omega...other than just itching for a change, any good reason to flip out the Planet Ocean and pick up the Colt?
And having both isn't an option. Thanks for your opinions.

No way, Jose. I would consider that a downgrade. If you're going to go with Breitling, I would look for a B01 movement, not one of their watches with an ETA movement. Save up, then buy yourself another watch that you like!!

I'm partial to the PO but always follow your gut.... Just make sure you think it through and enjoy what's on your wrist. The PO you got is a classic work horse.

Put it away

Take your PO out of circulation for a month or two. When you take it out of storage if you still want to buy something new then sell it. But I wouldn't trade down to a Breitling.

I agree with the others, you'll most likely regret moving from that PO to a Colt. If you're "itching for a change" but enjoy your current, the Basel PO releases should be hitting stores any time now. Perhaps take a peek at those and see if swapping that way might tickle your fancy?

Thanks for your comments, confirms what was lingering in the back of my mind. I always felt the PO was a good model, maybe I'll just switch to a sporty strap for a new look.

IMO, since you don't have an 8500 series PO (in other words, it's still ETA-based) I don't think a Breitling is a "step down". I've had many Breitlings and have thoroughly enjoyed them alongside Rolexes, Omegas and other brands.

If it sings to you, why not?

Another vote here for hanging onto that Planet Ocean! Whatever you do be it giving the watch a break or regular rotation do so but don't flip it.
