Are there 3 different dials on 116610?

1. Offset =
2. Centered =
3. Submariner text in bold and slanted =

Is that correct? I presume theoretically this is the order of production as well, eg. a 2019 should have Submariner bold and slandted =?

I saw this on a youtube video, and casually browsing chrono seems to suggest there are at least 2 dial types on the LN and LV.

Never seen & heard that. If there are, the differences are so minor that no one really cares.

Well seeing dials are still made in 3 different factories but now all owned by Rolex there have always been, and always will be slight variations on most all dials over production runs.

I was aware of 2 variations; one with the "f" in 1000 ft being taller and the = sign being parallel and the second variation having a shorter "f" with a slanted = sign. I always preferred the first version and do not recall ever seeing a third variation.

Over its life there are likely several different variations of font and cosmetics on dials for any reference.

The ink is pressed on with an ink filled tamp. That tamp wears, and is replaced, and refilled, etc., several times over the production of dials. Every change results in a variation.

As to order of production, again, the dials are made and put into storage. When a watch is built, they call for the parts and whatever part is next on the shelf is used, they do not make a fresh dial for every watch made.

The Mark 1, 2, 3, etc., stuff is made up, and for enthusiasts; it may not have any relationship to actual manufacture at all
