Yup, I originally linked from the backdoor (which I still use to access TRF) and I didnt add the www into the URL.

Funniest part about that thread is that I said I never wanted to own an FP...

Big congrats Chris!

How do you find the engraved wave pattern? and the nib pattern? They are beautiful, aren't they?

What ink did you get for this? It looks like the new 60ml bottle.

It is incredible. The nib contains the engraving of two fathoms which were crucial in determining the depth of the river during that era. The color itself can shift from blue to black depending on the lighting. I got the MB blue/black ink as it seems to be the most appropriate to the theme of this pen.

I have not inked it up yet noonan, I first have to read the manual. I assure you that if I run into difficulty, you fine gentlemen will be the first I ask...

I like the look of this pen.
Really a beautiful instrument to interpret your writing style.

So after reading the manual, inking this pen up was a lot easier and straightforward than I expected. Then I put it in my hand and wrote with it.

All I can say is wow!

As a lefty, I was concerned that the ink would smear, but unknown to me, I discovered I was an overwriter. Just a slight turn of the paper and my hand glided above the ink I was putting down. Also this "midnight blue" blue/black ink from mb dries pretty quickly. The nib just glides over the paper and no pressure is needed. I noticed that I dont grip this pen as tight as I grip ballpoints. This loosened grip in conjunction with the lack of pressure needed makes this (and I assume all fp) much easier to write with. I have horrible wrists (broken several times in childhood accidents and car crashes) and this is the first pen I've used that allows me to write a paragraph without pain. I absolutely love it. I tip my hat to you guys because without this section of TRF, I doubt I would have ever given up my bics. This pen makes me want to write, something I havent wanted to do since I learned how to read. Thank You!!!

I have a feeling that I am going to start collecting like I collect watches...

Good on you Chris!
Strongly suggest you consult the ink review section of Fountain Pen Network and check out which ink is fast drying.
