DD40 Rose gold Green dial- highly sought after???

I went to Harrods today and asked if they can order DD40 Rose gold Green dial and the SA told me this is in very high demand and they cannot order it.

I was so naive and I didn't aware that at all.

It is really stunning but don't think I can get it.
Full of DJ TT, ladies DJ with diamonds in the cases, though.
Guess my wallet is safe now and don't have to buy Rolex again, almost all models need to be allocated, for ordinary people like me can't afford to join in the game.

It is probably the most sought after DD at the moment. Grey prices are a pretty good indicator. It's a great piece! I have the WG counterpart.

No, Harrods won't do waiting list, I was told. Of course I don't believe it as they only serve those millionaires or billionaires for those hot models. Loads of VVVIP they have to serve.

I could only buy Sea Dweller and deep sea back there in 2016 as no one wanted it. Lol.

But I do appreciate that most of the SAs there are very polite and professional. No hard feeling at all.

Rose gold Olive dial and Eisenkiesel dial are the most sought after for Rolex Day-Date. I already got the Olive dial and waiting for another one for my spouse.

I think you still can be on the waitlist but it might take up to a year wait.

I didn't buy from an AD; paid a little under MSRP from my trusted grey, who is a close personal friend. That being said, grey prices have been trending up for the WG as well. Those that have purchased at an AD can probably provide more info, but from my understanding, it's becoming harder and harder to source.

Haha, sorry for the wrong wordings. I have to save money for a long time. Just thinking of getting this or RG daytona meteorite. Thought I couldn't get the daytona so I went for DD and end up both are the same, lol.

Yeah.. this reference took off last summer and is the most sought after DD40 combo at the moment. I’m so glad my AD supplied it for me Feb 2020 before the hype got to it (rightfully so as it’s gorgeous in person).

Most ADs only get 1-2 a year so you’ll have a long wait if there is a running wait list already. With that being said, most won’t be able to get it whenever they discontinue, unfortunately.

Thanks. The AD I deal with "suggested" me to put max 3 models at a time on the waiting list so I don't think i can add my name again. Well, just see if i can get RG Daytona meteorite first. Lol. Again don't expect too much. But RG DD Olive dial is really stunning. Congrats u both can have it.

When you can’t put your name down for a standard production Day Date, that’s when I start looking to other brands. Perhaps Patek or AL&S

Try getting a popular Patek model, even more difficult

For Patek it's easier to get a complicates timepieces at the higher price with leather strap but sport models is even harder than Rolex.

ALS is easier to get and their brand is coming up and up now, their msrp is a lot higher than Rolex also.

Rolex is the most reasonable price that most people can afford.

Exactly this. The Pateks that I like aren't in super-high demand. If I wanted a sports model though I'd look elsewhere, probably Grand Seiko

They were routinely listed on DAVIDSW for 32k alittle over a year ago. Kicking myself.

It’s a beautiful reference! I loved it in pictures but had it on my wrist in Cayman Islands at AD and it just didn’t sing to me in person, had a great discount offer (2018) but just wasn’t for me so I passed. Glad to see it’s getting due respect from many members, hopefully you can get one at reasonable price!

You get a lot more watch with ALS. They are easy to source. You get to see and try pretty much all models at AD (except limited editions but those are 100K+$). ADs are actually welcoming and friendly. Yes, ALS for the win. Don’t see why not more people have caught up… maybe because it’s not a game and exaggerated bloated valuations…

I witnessed an AD's response to a customer trying to get one from them, the short short version of that conversation went like this: "No, no, no, no and no, have a nice day!"

Sure, can you help me frame some additional clarification questions?

Hey AD...
1. Is this watch special?
2. Is it sought after?
3. Will it gain value?
4. Is this a good investment?
5. Will I feel special?
6. Have you seen that ________ youtube video?
7. What can I do to get one?
8. How long will it take?
9. Can you sell with the stickers on?
10. Do you have one in the back I can put on Instagram?
11. How many do you think they make?
12. Will they make more?
13. Can I swim with it?
14. Is it safe to wear while browsing forums, following watch bloggers, and making avocado toast at the same time?
