Explorer 2 returned from Rolex service with wrong bracelet

My Explorer 2 has recently returned from Rolex UK after a service and is now on a Submariner bracelet and clasp.
Has this ever happened to anyone and what would I expect Rolex time frame turn around to have it returned to it's proper bracelet? Hopefully not the 16 weeks for the service!
Not happy as I was in the process of a part-ex with a Sea Dweller 16600.

Never heard of it happening, we've had some threads here where RSC discretly engrave the bracelet with serial/job? number to stop this happening.

Not much you can do, lets hope they can find your original one.

I thought the RSC U.K. was supposed to be new & state of the art.......if they had Chris, "The GMT Master" working there this would never happen.

Wow....that's a heck of a lapse of concentration. I would expect the response to be pretty swift, if they can't locate your bracelet, then I guess it's a new one.

I'd be happy with a new one, but the correct one. I'll let you all know what they say next week.

Do you mean Submariner bracelet and clasp or SUBC's bracelet and clasp? I would like to have subc's bracelet and clasp. Anyway, I think this is a easy fix. Good luck.

Hmm, so the job number clasp – back engraving system isn't infallible then

Hope you get it sorted pronto, please let us know how it goes

Rolex should clone Chris to work in their AD's and RSC. Clones are immensely superior to droids. They are more docile, totally obedient, and take any order without question.....

Oh yes, he'd sort them out

Plus he could employ me as a junior car park attendant or something similar,.... (...imagining the staff discount...)

I would tell them your original bracelet, or a new replacement agreeable to you. Good Luck.

did they return it on a new sub bracelet????

you can sell sub bracelet and buy new explorer bracelet.... probably make a couple of hundred on their mistake.

"Original" band returned - at least. Service cost for Rolex watches can exceed the cost of most watches. Makes me wonder what's INSIDE the watches when they are returned. I just got a Sea Dweller serviced, and I'm not opening that thing up.

Maybe the folks at RSC UK were busy watching the young royal couple`s visit to our great and vast and beautiful country !!!
Cheers from Canada

yes very true.
but....
usually its RSC doing it on purpose to those dirty old red subs, DRSD, discolored tritium or nasty old matte dials or those faded to brown or patrizzi or...... well you get the idea....

in this case it would be a rare mistake in the customers favor that in the correction may actually add something positive to the watch (this is subjective of course).

I agree but I was in the process of part exchanging the Explorer with a SD with WatchFinder.co.uk who only agreed to pay £2000 for the Explorer since it was on the incorrect bracelet.

It's not really an "incorrect" bracelet as both the GMT and the Explorer II were available with the extension 93150 bracelets..

I can see your concern since you're trying to sell it.. However, only you know the condition of the original bracelet and if the 93150 is a new one, you're light years ahead of the game with the new bracelet..

Tell them to buy the watch from you, and that will compensate all.

I'd see the bright side of it:

They have only 2 options:

1. Give you your "old" bracelet - which will very likely not happen
2. Give you a brand new one.

Complain and see what they come up with. Cheers!

It is interesting to see that the RSC is, in fact, fallible - despite their rigid and supposedly "infallible" policies!

I agree I would take a new bracelet over a used maybe worn condition original bracelet any day of the week. I think you will find many buyers that will agree. Just be upfront about it and see what happens.

Just another reason to skip the unnecessary servicing. Wear them until they break. I have one 30 years old and still going strong.

First time I've heard of something like this happening from any RSC.
Looking forward to the update!
