116710 vs 126710
Hi All,
Please help me to make a decision. I have an opportunity to trade my 2017 116710 Batman with a 2020 126710 Batgirl. The seller asking for USD$3000 in cash additional. I really love the jubilee but in the same time I don't know whether this trade is worth the $3000. Thank you in advance for your help |

IMHO, no, I do not feel it is worth it. Unless you REALLY want the bracelet that badly and you know the movement in the 126710 is healthy, it is not a trade I would personally do.

Me personally wouldn’t pay $3k and trade in a watch I have history with for essentially the same watch...

Assuming you are the original owner, I feel the same way.

How about taking the $3k and purchasing a jubilee band? That gives you the option of weaing the oyster or jubilee and keeping your original GMT

I did the opposite. My 2019 batgirl for a 2017 oyster. Love it. Last year for that ref, I wouldn't let it go

I wouldn't do it. That said, I know the feeling that I get in my gut when I wanted to flip something I own for something just a little bit different.
I've flipped a 2 line 14060 to a 16610, and then the 16610 to a 116710LN, and then back to a 16610 because I couldn't stand to not have a Sub. That story ended with me trading the 16610 to a 116610 because I wanted the maxi case and ceramic bezel. What I did was pure stupidity, but I couldn't stand not to have what I wanted. Its the same reason some of us buy through grey dealers (I just got a 126710BLRO due to that same feeling in my gut). Does your deal make sense? Absolutely not, but do it if it's what you truly want. |

Oyster > Jubilee
Jubilees are fine on Datejusts.

Really just comes down to which bracelet you want, in my opinion if I wanted the alternative bracelet I would do it.

I have a 116710BLNR also when searching for a super jubilee it was much cheaper than 3k. The only other thing I would consider is a warranty but most likely you won't need to service either watch in 5 years.

I much prefer the jubilee as the oyster often gets confused with the sub and the jubilee makes it special to me... BUT this is not a good trade. I would just buy a jubilee bracelet separately.

Yes this is possible. The 69200 jubilee bracelet that comes on the new 126710 fits the 116710 case BUT will require third party spring bars as the original spring bars from the 116710 are too thick and do not fit within the 69200 end links. If you use the 126710 spring bars, they won't fit into the lug holes in the 116710 case. In lieu of this, you can pick up the 63600 Super Jubilee bracelet (as on the SS DJ36 (116234) - older model)) that fits the 116710 and use Datejust 36/Daytona 116520/116500 spring bars (p/n: 23-40200). MSRP on the 63600 is about $1600US (I believe)

Never in my life. The 116710 features the 3186 movement - one of the most reliable motors that Rolex has produced. Plus, the real Batman only appears on Oyster.

Just buy a super jubilee for less. Then you have the option to switch anytime you want.

Does your AD sell pre-owned? Why not go back to your AD and get a new one? If you are willing to add $3k in the proposed trade, I suspect your AD would find you a new one on Jubilee at MSRP and take that $3k value themselves by valuing your trade appropriately.

hey No way man, just order the jubilee for the 116710 and original tool and u can have both watches at your whim and fancy. 3186 movement in your OG batman is superior and sound imho.
