New Cameron Deep Sea
Got a call from my AD last week and he had another Deep Sea for me. I've bought four in the last two years. One for me, one each for my two boys and one for my brother for Christmas. Seems things are loosening up a bit. Also bought a Panerai Sub and a Lady Date Just for my wife. With an 8.25 inch wrist, the Deep Sea is my go to. Anyone else see things getting better as far as supply or do I just have a great AD? Looking for a new YM II in steel next.

I have a really great AD who always been honest and delievered watches when he said, but my D-blue had been 6 months now, first Christmas, then febuary and now March. But he is a very small AD maybe that’s why. Looking really forward to it. My next is a daytona on oysterflex I think.

Yes - lots of measures taken in the past 18mos, throttling deliveries post pandemic to get the supply chain full, consolidating AD network, adding display models that can be sold, + some demand waning due to inflation or the casual buyer getting their fill (still not for the most coveted SS pro models), new procedures at the big stores (fill out a card and it goes into the pile).... it adds up; a 16th here and a 16th there and the result seems to be that yes, things are opening up a bit more.
This take comment as 1/3 my educated opinion/observations, 1/3 guessing, and 1/3 info aggregated from a few different ADs of different sizes over the past 2-3mos....

Above all, you probably just have a good AD.
Great watch by the way (which you know). |

Congrats on the new watch. When I was buying my watch at the AD, I saw two other people there buying one as well. Maybe a good sign?

Setting the reference number aside and the fact they wear the same, they are very different watches to look at under the right circumstances with the JC having a certain amount of a special appeal among the Rolex diver line-up.
Having both is potentially a cornerstone of a rolex collection if one is so inclined Take it from me, I know because I have both myself, reference 116660 as my only Rolex watches. I used to have every possible reference and variation of Explorer II's going right back to the beginning, but they all went to happier places and replaced with both the DSSD's because they were redundant. That's watch collecting for you |
