Buying from Chrono24 - import tax? GST?

Hi TRF, I am thinking to buy a 16600 from Chrono24. I'm based in Australia.
If the watch is priced at 15k, is my calculation roughly correct?

15k + 10% GST = 16.5k
16.5k + 5% import tax = 17.3k

So I will be forking out roughly 2.3k additionally to the watch which is priced at 15k.

Any Aussies who bought from Chrono24, could you shed some light into this?

Lastly, is there something I need to action after ordering the watch? or will I get a call from customs asking me to pay the additional $?

TIA

I cannot speak for Australia purchases as I am based in the US.
However, I did purchase from Ch24 before and my experience is this.

Watch price
+ Shipping cost
+ Sales tax (~8.8% in my US state)
+ US customs and duties
= Total landed cost

I could not escape any of those add on costs. The seller would not ship until I paid the shipping. Ch24 automatically charged me the sales tax. And UPS would not release the item to me until I paid customs and duties. After that experience, I would rather just purchase a timepiece from a US seller who would ship free overnight and not charge any sales tax.

I see. Thanks for sharing your experience. I agree that it'd be totally worth buying locally but as you know... when you are lookin'... all the shitty ones are near you and the so called 'minty' or 'NOS' seem to be overseas...haha

Still trying to figure out how much extra $$ I should expect from buying the watch overseas. The last thing I want is to return the watch to the seller which may be very possible - but in this case... do I just lose my import fee I paid and of course, shipping. Complicated.
