Rolex 31 set date
I just set the date to 11th today at 11am (pacific time) How come it jumped to the 12th around 2PM. Did I do something wrong?

Maybe the hands were actually at 11:00 pm and you interrupted the date changeover. Manually advance the hands until the date changes again…i bet it works correctly this time.

It sounds like the date on your watch may have transitioned because it was set around midday, which can sometimes cause the date to advance prematurely if the AM/PM cycle isn’t aligned. Most mechanical watches require the date to be set in the correct 12-hour cycle to ensure it doesn’t jump unexpectedly.
To resolve this, try adjusting the time past 12 o’clock, making sure you’re in the AM or PM correctly, then set the date again. Setting it around midnight rather than midday can help avoid any confusion with the date mechanism. |

Here’s a quick tip for dealing with the common issue of not knowing whether your watch is in AM or PM, especially after it's been off your wrist and stopped. What I usually do is set the date to the day before. For example, if today is the 11th, I would first set the date to the 10th. Then, manually cycle the hour hand forward until the date changes to the 11th—this way you know it’s now in the AM. From there, just set the exact time and you're all set! Works like a charm.
