First and only rolex

I wear a G Shock when I skate but I was lucky enough to make some money with this silly Bitcoin thing and asked the AD in town for an explorer. My dad wore a sub when I was a kid and I’ve wanted a Rolex ever since, got this a month ago and still look at it in disbelief. Anyway just thought I’d share seeing as I lurk these forums a lot when I’m bored and I’m also curious if there’s any other skateboarders in here.

Be careful, you might catch the fever and become a watch monster. You could be doomed like the rest of us.

Beautiful watch. I skated until I fractured my hip and couldn't walk right for three months. That convinced me that I was too old to do any more skating.

Love this post! A refreshing post of someone that appreciates the brand, a nice story about his father, and a fantastic Rolex. So funny thing I used to skate when I was younger. I worked my way up to a Santa Cruz and skated around the neighborhood constantly. I could never pull off a clean ollie, got so frustrated and eventually quit. My son just got a board and I tried it, never lost the touch. Congrats and welcome to the club!

I broke my left tibia falling off a skateboard when I was 10. Thusly was my skateboarding career ended.

Congratulations on the watch, OP.

Congrats to the OP and nice to hear a Dad inspiring that itch! Lucky for me I wasn’t all that interested in skating- saved my self from all the bruises, broken bones, etc. On that note, when the hoverboards were a thing, I did try them since my younger nephew got one for Christmas… boy I went for a ride and broke my leg jajaja

Awesome watch OP. I've got a handful of Santa Cruz and Powell popsicles and a few Arbor cruisers.

dresses up, dresses down, to the opera or downtown.

congrats on picking up a perfect choice! paired with a g-shock, that is a superb 2-piece collection and hardly need anything more.

36 as the "Explorer" text is on the upper half of dial.

Around 1959, my friends and I took our steel roller skates apart and nailed them to either end of small wooden planks. We skated on them down a tremendous stretch of a not finished highway near our home. It was about a quarter mile long, straight down hill and then back up another steep hill. These makeshift boards were all that was available as the amazing skate board as you know it was not yet invented. It’s a wonder any of us survived really. Congrats on your watch and skate boarding, awesome sport…
