Is there any reason to use an image hosting site like Imgur or Photobucket vs. using the attachment function built into the post editor?

Uploading on hosting sites is far more streamlined and versatile for batch uploads and have features like auto-resizing built in which makes life simple. I prefer to use that than the native forum paperclip.
