Trading

Hi all,

firstly a nod to all the trf'ers who really seem to know their stuff in here. no other site like it.

My situation is this:

I have recently been passed as a present a two tone DJ 116233. It is around 1990 but in realtively spanking new condition except for a single blemish as was kept in a safe for years. The guy has everything from vc's and breguets to a day date.

I already am in posession of an identical DJ which i wont part with for sentimental reasons. My problem is that i'm 22 and

1. i dont fee comfortable in gold.
2. i already have the same one.

what i'd like to do is trade for a SS DJ. One as recent as possible. My ideal would be a SS DJ on an oyster in exchange for this peice.

Going by your knowledge or past experience is it relatively do-able?

should i go about it by butting it up in here or trying to trade in with someone like blowers jewellers in the UK?

i knnow two tones take a hit in the 2nd hand market but as a bit of a classic would you think i could get at least a late nineties in SS in exchange?

cheers in advance for all your help and advice!

I think you would be better off selling the DJ yourself, then buying what you want. Before you do, I would double check the reference #.

A 1990 116233? Don't you mean a 16233? Unless I'm mistaken, the 116233 didn't come out until just a few years ago.
